-I don't care about Thor or the Hulk. Luckily, the Avengers didn't require me to care or see the films.
-I've never played tabletop RPGs. I don't have the time or patience for anything that takes hours and hours and you have to round up a bunch of people who want to do the same thing at the same time.
-The ME3 ending was good enough. Hell, ME3 was far better then the third part of most trilogies I've seen/played/read.
-On a related note, there are only 2 good star wars movies. I also don't really care about the new movies coming out(Sorry, Georgie. You had your chance with the prequels and failed. Guardians of the Galaxy was a better Star Wars flick then any of the prequels).
-I find everything HALO pretty "meh".
-Final Fantasy XIII and company have some really cool ideas. Too bad they're buried within terrible games.
-I liked CoD until BLOPS II(MW3 almost killed the series for me, and I took a chance on BLOPS II. I don't regret it).
-I liked both Sin City films(I'll agree they're silly and over the top, and I love them for it).
-I like Sucker Punch for the same reason.
-Never played a Pokemon game. I know the concept. I just don't care.
-Never played any of the Diablo games, or torchlight.
-I've never seen a Harry Potter movie all the way through. I've seen bits and pieces of some of them. I've also never read any of the books. It's on my to do list.
-Never Watched the Walking Dead. I've heard plenty of people tell me that the Telltale games are far better, so I'm not gonna waste my time slumming with the show.
-I don't care about muti-player or co-opt games. I've tried. At most I can muster a couple weeks before I get bored or want to move onto something new.
-To go along with this, I've never played World of Warcraft.

I don't like Game of Thrones and can't be asked to watch the HBO series either. Also never got sucked into Breaking Bad, first few episodes didn't interest me and never started again. Same with Mad Men.

I've seen like 1 episode of Voyager and only 3-4 of the original Star Trek. Pretty much all TNG and DS:9 (Enterprise didn't happen).

As for the last one. How much is "a huge degree"?

Don't mean to be nit-picky/annoying, just curious....and bored. ;p

OT: I haven't seen/read any of the Lord of the Rings, or Dr. Who.
I've only played two FF games (10 and 12, I like 12 better). Never played a Zelda or Metroid game.
I quit pokemon, twice (Digimon is better ;p), and I haven't played Chrono Trigger or Earth Bound.

That's all I could think of at the moment.

-I dislike Final Fantasy, Megaman, Sonic, Metroid, Dark Souls and Bioshock.

-I find Lord of the Rings to be overrated. Same with Dr. Who and Star Trek. In fact, I prefer JJ Abrams' newer Star Trek movies. I also think the Star Wars prequels were ok. Except Phantom Menace. Fuck Phantom Menace.

-I love Assassin's Creed and Halo. Skyrim was the first Elder Scrolls game I played and I have no desire to play the earlier ones.

-I've never played a card game that I liked. I dislike most board games. I refuse to even try Catan.

-You'll never get me to watch an anime.

-I liked Gone Home.

-Do not care for most Legend of Zelda games. I liked Wind Waker and Skyward Sword, nothing else though.

-I thought the Mass Effect 3 ending was alright. Not good. Just alright. Certainly wasn't worth the fuss.

-I never want to go to a convention to spend all day with a bunch of smelly nerds that think deodorant is all you need.

If you don't hear from me in a week, please call the police.

there's quite a few fantasy sub genres....low fantasy, high fantasy, heroic fantasy I tend to get them mixed up, but If I recall heroic fantasy focuses on the individual rather than the bigger picture

my issue is with fantasy in general, I've barley read any yet its also tired and derivative and I feel like I have to learn an entire history of some fictional place with silly names (oh GOD the silly names)

that said I may have a higher tolerance for something set in a post-industrial world...NOT urban fantasy though, that's just silly

I think its a hard question, but when you've got very little else in your life and tend to have a very narrow view of things, you can't just "unplug" every now and again

of coarse that depends on a million things of which I am in no position to judge for a lot of people

I'm sure Vault can answer both of those questions but I just want to chime in and answer your first one. (Because I'm bored too)

High fantasy is just a sub genre of fantasy. It usually involves an alternative world and usually have very epic (in the traditional definition of epic) plot themes or characters. Examples of high fantasy include Lord of the Rings, the Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and Game of Thrones. This is where you usually see different races, languages, poltics ect. These tend to be boring for people because it generally involves a lot of good vs evil conflicts and grand complex worlds that need to be memorized and learned which can be unrelatable and alienating to some people.

There are many different types of fantasy just as there are many different types of other genres. Low fanatsy for example usually involves the real world with very little fanatical elements. True Blood, The Fables series, and The World of Darkness series are good examples of this type.

Since I don't like Sci-fi in any of its forms I'm a fan of fantasy in all of its forms. xD

Eh, I'd say that's a reasonable measure for "too much", but yeah. It varies on the person and situations.

As for fantasy, as a fan of some, I can understand being bored/tired of it. The whole "standard fantasy setting" issue for one.
That said, I like it when it's used as a frame for other story elements, but yeah. They do often go through the "check list".

Anyway.

Ah, so then the "levels", high-low, are based on how much of the world/elements of the story are "made up stuff", and how "connected" to "real" life it is?

That makes sense. Thanks for the info. :D

Me too. Also a lot of Japanese voices make me want to rip my ears off.

Also I've never really been into comic books. The last time I was huge into comics was when those Nintendo comics came out back in the late 80's/early 90's.

I'm the complete opposite, sci fi can be (and often is) very derivative.....but I guess it shows that sometimes your thing is ether elves and orcs or spaceships and aliens

I'm not into any superheroes or their universes/culture, and I've never gotten into anything from Japan save for a few obscure heavy metal bands (so no anime or JPRGs).

Those would be the big ones I guess, especially the superhero thing. Just no interest in them at all. Can't quite pinpoint why, but perhaps a lack of exposure when I was young? I never really watched any Batman or Spiderman etc cartoons when I was young.

Mine goes a little differently.

Dear roommate of past 6 years. I know you're not reading this but I'll pretend like you do.

Remember when I was busting my ass studying for midterm you were slacking off playing Halo 4? One afternoon you were desperately looking for your Halo 4 disc and I played dumb and told you to fuck off because I was studying.

The truth is, I was hiding your Halo 4 inside my PS3. I knew it would be the last place you would ever look. I'm quite relieved my PS3 didn't puke itself to yellow light of death.

I have a degree in environmental engineering but hey! Close enough.

Also, I enjoyed Spider Man 3

I liked the Evil Dead remake more than the original movies, I mean I love the original trilogy too but the remake is just so fucking good...

I've only finished 2 RPGs in all of my life, those being Golden Sun and KOTOR II, never bothered finishing any others but I've played tons of them and I really like them, I just get tired of them though and if I take a long break from a game I prefer to start over rather than continue my old file in case I forgot any details but then I get bored even faster because I already did that and I end up quitting, I mean most RPGs are longer than they have to be and if I'm honest I find most battle systems to be pretty boring.

I never really cared for Harry Potter.

I do not like the Civilization games.

I thought Zelda 2 was pretty good, but then again I do like hard platformers

That's all I can think of right now.

I'm a huge fan of TV series but I don't like the Walking Dead and I dislike the way they deformed the Song of Ice and Fire books with Game of Thrones.

I couldn't care less for all those hero movies out there. The new Batman trilogy is good, the Avengers is a decent action movie but the rest... meh

Doctor Who? Blergh. Weird and awkward humor. Most episodes don't have a good story and/or script (with some exceptions). No likeable characters.

I think Quentin Tarantino films are over rated and boring.

I don't like Peter Capaldi as The Doctor and stopped watching about 4 episodes into the last series.

I think the Portal games are boring.

I have only watched Iron Man and Guardians of The Galaxy out of all the Marvel films and I thought Iron Man was shit.

I think Angel is better than Buffy.

My favourite Mass Effect game was 3.

The only Star Trek I've watched has been the two J. J. Abrams movies.

The only Doctor Who I've watched is the new series (and unlike with Star Trek, I have no desire to check out the older stuff at all)

My current OS is Windows Vista, though that's mainly due to it being the one my computer came with and I can't afford to upgrade it.

I reckon the hate toward the Star Wars prequels is overblown.

I will also say the same about Nickelback, the Big Bang Theory, and Internet Explorer.

I'm not hardcore about it, and I always defer to canon, but I do occasionally engage in shipping.

I watched a few episodes of Doctor Who, and absolutely dislike it. I don't hate it, I can totally get why some people are interested in it but I just have no interest in it at all. None.
The Persona series is not the best thing ever for JRPGs. Its decent, but annoying in that Japanese high school bullshit way. *shrug*
I've read all the Game of Thrones books so far, and while they're not bad they're not as good as people make them out to be. Immature murder porn and incest porn. Dress it up as much as you want with the whole "but it parallels historical War of the Roses" bullshit, its still immature as hell. I didn't say I don't like it, I just wouldn't even rank it on my top 10 best series.
Also hate the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series. Boring. As. Fuck.
Oh, and I love the Abrams-verse Star Trek. Because I can separate the two universes. Its easy for me, and I like the movies for what they are. Also think the "lens flare" argument is nitpicky at best.

I called myself a Gundam fan and yet I haven't watched ANY of the Universial Century Gundam (the timeline which the original Gundam is from) series at all except for Gundam Unicorn (before you asked if it confuse me, I read the summary of the conflicts from these Gundam handbook).

Also I haven't seen any of the past non UC Gundam before Gundam Wing althought I did watched a few episode of X Gundam when I was in Holiday in Honk Kong. Granted I refuse to watch Gundam seed Destiny due to reading how bad of a sequel it is.

I suppose I don't called myself a ture/ hardcore Gundam fan.

I never was a huge fan of Star Wars, despite more or less growing up with them. Same goes for Pixar-movies. Don't hate them either, it's just 'meh'.

Queen Michael said:
I've heard yaoi fangirls ask actual gay people who's the seme and the uke in the relationship.
Agreed on the bad aspects of the yaoi-fandom (although the way the word is used to often just describe any male/male fiction or art not all of it is that bad. But depends on who you hang out with so...) but that's hardly something only yaoi-fangirls do.

That kind of heteronormativity is everywhere, and gay couples are constantly asked 'so which one of you is the man and which one the woman'. I'm contantly summoned as the resident lesbian to tell 'so which one of them is the man?' by my older relatives whenever gay couples appear on TV...

And of course some gay couples then have this kind of internalized heteronormativity.

It has even been the dumbest argument against gay marriage I have ever heard:

"But if gays are allowed to get married, how will I then know which one I'm supposed to call Mr and which one Mrs? It will just be awkward!"

And before you ask, unfortunately I know she really wasn't trolling.

I also think Platinum is at best a mediocre game developer.
