I'm sure that as of recent, you've heard of the new worm called Confiker or Downadup. It is the latest threat to Windows users. It's said to have hit almost 9 million computers right now and Microsoft is even dishing out $250,000 to anyone who knows how to get rid of it. This latest worm is said to be the top one, completely baffling experts. It even updates frequently.

Here's a couple of links:

So, now Escapist users, let's discuss it. There are even contradictions saying that Confiker doesn't exist. Whether it does or not, we'll soon find out because it's said to attack sometime today.

I bet everyone else with a Mac right now is feeling just about as smug as I am...
Macs have had more and more viruses as more and more people get them. You're not even close to immune.

Didn't say we were. I was merely saying this one, a particularly bad one, doesn't affect us...

I didn't get it either.

It may have to do with the fact that I'm not a moron running a LAN than having a Mac, though.

It's not just going to pop up without being provoked to do so... So just don't go clicking random links (i.e. random ones posted on this site...) and if all else fails, just spam your anti-virus software to do a virus search like I do... Wait, can that detect a worm? o_o

It can detect computer worms but it can not detect giant worms sinking cities.

I'm sure Vista will save me!
Don't bet on it.
Why not? This virus exploited a weakness that was fixed months earlier, so it's only user incompetence not installing windows updates that leads to such a vulnerability.

Obviously, since it works on an old xp weakness, of course Vista save him.

Dang, why did I wait until today to order Ubuntu?
Order Ubuntu? You requested the free cd?
Cause you could've downloaded it, unless your connection is terrible.

Confiker might fool it. It's designed to. As I said, it's even baffling the experts.
