What is up with this pride over what titles are exclucive for your platform ?
Isn't it sad to have to beat your chest over such an obvious marketing ploy ?
Wouldn't you rather have a platform you can play all games on ?
Why spend a few hundred dollars on a piece of hardware just so you can play it's exclucive games ?
Is it fun to laugh in the face of someone who doesn't have a ps3 and can't play Heavyrain ?
Should I really have to buy a xbox360 so I can play Halo3 ?
Most current generation consoles are already just PC's without mice or keyboards.
Why can't we all just get along ? (and play each others exclucive games )

Over exclusives? I'm not. I believe Yahtzee explained it a long time ago, when you can only afford one console so the best way to deal with it is to delude yourself into thinking that it's the BEST console, and the side effect of that is pride over exclusives, one more thing to hold over the other ones.

Why am I proud I chose a console? Because I didn't spend an arm and a leg to get an over-the-top computer that I'd be playing on in an alley behind an internet cafe.

Business does not work like that I'm afraid.
Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo pay a good bit of money to have titles exclusivly on their console to help it sell.
And I basically have nothing to add.
Other than I'm a fanboy of neither of the consoles and don't hold pride for Heavy Rain or Halo being exclusive to the consoles I own.

I'm pretty satisfied with my choice of console. The exclusives are only icing on the cake. Just do a little research before choosing the one that's best for you.

PC gamers, why so elitist?

This is only going to cause problems, the OP is just a big bash at anyone who has a console (like myself) and for that i'm going to have to scan the internet for an appropiate flame shield picture...

First off: Not all console gamers are fanboys like you describe.

Second: Some people just prefer consoles to PCs for some game styles.

Third: Buying and/or assembling a PC is expensive and takes some know-how, some people just want to play a few games.

It's another piece of hardware, and thus does different things. And why do you almost exclusively bash the XBox 360? It's a good console, just like the PS3.

Ho, and to answer your question, it's because Bungi worked for Microsoft, so no wonder it's only for PC and 360.

One word: fanboys.

That's all you need to know.
Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Believe me, there's assholes on every platform, indeed, there's assholes in all of life.

PC, Xbox, PS3, even Wii. Each one has their own specialized brand of arseholes that make life hell for reasonable people.

I'm a PC gamer mainly, but I make it a point never to act elitist or entitled. Just because I like the PC doesn't make it better than anything else.
^ And here gents is what we call a real gamer. Someone who enjoys each gaming platform for it's strengths and respects their flaws. Fanboys do nothing but get pissed off at anyone who dares have an opinion different from theirs.

You're asking the wrong place if I'm honest, fanboy levels are pretty low here...

And he doesn't assume everyone on the escapist is a gent either, so win/win ;-)

In the end, it's best for the great majority of people to simply shut the fuck up about their gaming choices lest they become retarded.
It's fine if they can discuss it civilly, but as soon as people start to say "Game A is better than Game B because hurr durr" then I just tune them out, as they usually don't have anything good to say, and will eventually cause a flamewar.

Uhh, that's not a 'console gamer' problem.
That's a 'douchebag' problem.

There are PC gamers who do it, PS3 gamers, 360 and Wii gamers...and they are all douchebags.
I, for example, enjoy playing on my 360, but see the appeal of all the platforms (Even if I'm not particularly interested in them). Most people I know and play with are in that category. People who feel the need to elevate their gaming platform above all others, objectively, are just insecure douchebags, and they certainly aren't limited to console gamers.

Also: What Furburt said.

Strangely enough the PC is my favourite platform but most of my gaming time is on the Xbox 360. Partially because I need a new graphics card, and partially because I do not trust computers to stay working well enough for a long time, as they seem to slowly degrade.
