What is up with this pride over what titles are exclusive for your platform ? the same can be said of the PC, cars, trucks, boats, TV's, etc. Pride is irrational at times.
Isn't it sad to have to beat your chest over such an obvious marketing ploy ?you probably do the same thing over whatever you have pride for.
Wouldn't you rather have a platform you can play all games on ?There is no such thing.
Why spend a few hundred dollars on a piece of hardware just so you can play it's exclusive games ?Many of us have paid more than for our cars, computers, homes, etc.
Is it fun to laugh in the face of someone who doesn't have a ps3 and can't play Heavy Rain ?Yes. My cars is better than yours because it no acceleration but better gas mileage! Haha!
Should I really have to buy a xbox360 so I can play Halo3 ?why do you want to play it?
Most current generation consoles are already just PC's without mice or keyboards.all consoles are computers. They are made for a specified task. Even the older ones are computers.
Why can't we all just get along ? (and play each others exclusive games )insulting people and then asking for peace is like creating a fire and then complaining when the firemen come to put it out.
... I found out how to color! Woohoo!

Hmmm.....Yep, I see the problem here. The people you're refering to are called "Fanboys", and I, as a console gamer, do not enjoy being lumped in with them.

No platform can play all games. And if you're referring to a gaming PC, it's because they're expensive and complicated to make. Plus, I wanna eat every day.

Oh, and you're kinda lumping us regular folk with the vocal minority, the fanboys.

I buy every console anyway and i play games on my PC, i love all my gaming platforms and am a fanboy to none, every console has strengths and flaws. If i was to go with a favourite console it would probably be the 360 because i like it's exclusives better but that doesn't make it a better gaming platform than the PS3, Wii or PC.

You start off well, and then this;

I can't play KillZone on the PC, or Halo 3 for that matter.

And then it gets worse

Your preaching about fanboys being silly while the above comes across as PC elitist. "you've got less functionality hurhur"

Also why is it fanboys for consoles but Elitist's for PC's?

It has been my experience that PC gamers are generally a lot more elitist than console gamers so I really don't see where this is coming from.

When I hear people talking about how their system is better because of an exclusive, it is usually between the consoles (I.E. PS3 is better then 360 'cause we have Heavy Rain or 360 is better then PS3 'cause we have Halo) and not so much about consoles being better then PC.

Beyond all of that, I'll just re-state what others have already said...

Fanboys are Fanboys... that is all.

When I moved into halls of residence with many students that game, I definately heard a lot of hate from the consolers towards mice + keyboard, and vice versa from the pc gamers. I play both, beat them all at Halo 3 or CSS, didn't matter to me.

I don't like the idea of exclusives.. but I can live with them. What I would like is for achievements to cross over. So microsoft, sony, valve and nintendo could join them together. Wouldn't do anything for them but I'd be happier. I like getting 360 achievements but steam achievements don't feel very rewarding, don't ask me why.

That is PC hipster speak. It all means the same thing.

And to answer the question playing Heavy Rain on the PS3 and playing RDR on the 360 fills me with tons of pride thank you.

I'm a "proud" console gamer because I get to play the games I like. Simple as that. Also, the concept of an exclusive game seems to be dying, making crowing about such things ultimately pointless.

For the last year or so I haven't had a PC to game on, I went a while with pretty much nothing (Wii... me no likey) and then got a PS3 in the fall of last year. I love it, love the games whether exclusive or not. Recently, what with having a job now, I bought a fan-fucking-tastic gaming PC and I do indeed prefer to game on it over my PS3... mostly. The games look better but then, my PS3 cost as much as one of my video cards... hmm... Anyway, I like both. PCs are great for gaming and then some, consoles are great for gaming and some other stuff... Plus playing racing games on a keyboard sucks, as do action games like God of War/Prince of Perisa style games. Those benefit a lot from a gamepad IMO, plus I don't find first person shooters bad or tough to play with a gamepad, tho I do prefer the mouse. IMO, if you try to put others down and make your choice out to be supreme and above all critisism, you simply need to STFU.

I don?t get it either.
First of all, it?s not like any of these fanboys had any hand in making these consoles.
I think what it comes down to is the fact that the consoles are very expensive now and so people spending all that money on them want to justify their price by saying?this one I got is better than the one you got.?

And frankly, even if they did have a hand in making them, they still don?t have anything to boast about. We have one machine that?s basically an overpriced children?s toy, another that is an overpriced spontaneously combusting noisemaker, and the other is also overpriced and more sturdy than the last but recieves such horrible support, it loses as many features as it gains.

I have that latter one and sometimes I wish I had just stuck with the PC. For this generation at least. It still get?s the best titles; those console exclusives are vastly overrated, from Heavy Rain (basically a pretentious collection of QTEs ) to Halo 3 (the only shooter more generic is Quake). Also, the PC really does do everything, and not all half-assed either.

One word: fanboys.

That's all you need to know.
Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Believe me, there's assholes on every platform, indeed, there's assholes in all of life.

PC, Xbox, PS3, even Wii. Each one has their own specialized brand of arseholes that make life hell for reasonable people.

I'm a PC gamer mainly, but I make it a point never to act elitist or entitled. Just because I like the PC doesn't make it better than anything else.
^ And here gents is what we call a real gamer. Someone who enjoys each gaming platform for it's strengths and respects their flaws. Fanboys do nothing but get pissed off at anyone who dares have an opinion different from theirs.
And he doesn't assume everyone on the escapist is a gent either, so win/win ;-)
Exactly. ;)
