Hello dear friends, might you be kind enough to recommend me a good screen-capture program that is rather free. Fraps is splendid but the time limit is a rather large disservice to all things good. Thanks for your time.

I've used Microsoft Expression Encoder in the past and it seemed to work pretty well. I don't know how crippled the free version is, though, so it might not suit your purposes. Looks like it's limited to 10 minute captures.

Printscreen and paste into Photoshop or some other graphic editing program?

Run a game through Steam so you get the overlay and screen capture ability?

Considering he's obstructed by the time limit I wager it's not screenshots but video he is trying to capture.

I'd suggest WeGame I myself use FRAPS but a friend of mine recommended it to me, it's worth taking a look I guess, considering it's free.

Honestly, I use the Livestream Procaster [http://www.livestream.com/platform/procaster]and just have it save the videos instead of posting them or doing a live show. It can record the desktop or games, you can use their set qualities or it has an advanced settings page for changing things your own (Like setting FPS or adding more than one mic, etc.)

I know it isn't the best software out there, but it is free and it's pretty useful.

I use aTube catcher ( http://atube-catcher.dsnetwb.com/video/ )

It's original function is to download videos off YouTube, but they eventually gave it pretty decent screen capturer.

This, run the game with the Steam overlay and you get the F12 screen capture facility.
