Convince me, Escapists. Is Portal 2 worth $25?

For the next 13 hours, Portal 2 is $25 on Steam. I don't know whether or not it's worth it. I enjoyed Portal, but a lot of what made it great was its brevity and self-containedness (yes, I know that's not a word.) I remember thinking when it was announced, "This is like if they put Kuribo's Shoe in Super Mario Galaxy... it was special because it was there, it came and went. Now they're ruining that."

So, is Portal 2 just a money-grubbing gag? Is it actually well-designed? Does it actually bring anything semi-new to the table? Or does it amount to nothing more than what could easily just be DLC for the first one?
I played through all of Portal 2's Single Player and Co-Op Campaign during a 5-day rental and I loved my entire experience with it so much, that after returning the game, I went back home and downloaded the original Portal for my X-box.

I'd highly recommend getting it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Of course it's not. It's worth way more. But seeing as Gabe Newell is apparently the 2nd coming of the Jesus of Nazareth, I suppose it's ok.

I bought it because it was $25....and because it's Portal 2 and if I'm correct it more of the same stuff which is good...hopefully.

haha some people actually bitched that it was too long (as I said)

"ohhhhh noooooo we cant make it toooo long because then it wont be as perfect as the first game!"

6 hours...most people said the puzzles were easy but thats really speeding through it, I think I got 8 or 10 hours out of it mabye more...but it was worth it
Point being, the Game is fun, but just once. Once you finished the Singleplayer and the Co-Op, you have seen everything. Every Pun, every Joke, most likely every Glados Line. And for the short Length of under 10 Hours is too short for that Price. Hell i'd never shell out 50 Bucks for a Game that i can play through only once, no matter its length, so while 25 is half that already, its still quite a bit considering you could get something just as entertaining, minus mad AI trying to kill you, which you can play longer and several times for the same or even less.

Really its what People expect from a Game these Days as to if a Game is worth its cost or not. To me, Portal, as well as Portal 2 arent worth it, regardless of the Praise both got, mainly due to massively short Gametime and lack of Replay value. Want to have fun with Puzzles? Try the Portal Flash Game, try "thinking with Portals" in a 2D Environment of Death Traps.

mabye..Ive played the first portal a couple of times I think jsut for the story/humour, and I image Ill do the same for this one

its like ME2....Ive never done a full renegade run through or playes as male shep or even romanced somone different (in the first one anyway)...I think its for the story

I guess it depends on the induvidual

anyway I DO put a very high value on game length, if I find somthing too short I feel ripped off, Portal 2 was an exception I was willing to make
