I think I have a cool gaming name... or at least a unique one that almost nobody else uses.

In regards to the topic, your friend may want to take the name of something they like, and then alter it a bit to have different spelling, but a similar sound while saying it. I did this with one of my major characters in WoW, who I have alternated naming Ralkar (Ragnar) and Theyra (Freya).

Yes, i've got a little thing for the Norse.

Use a demeaning name because too many tossers on XBL (or such) give themselves names that make them sound 'good'. And then when they look down on you (because obviously your gamername is a measurement of your actual skill /sarcasm) you can go kick their butts and watch them ragequit. And it's always funny to see 'DumbNoob' higher up on the scoreboard than 'XxELIT3_PR0xX'.
Or just pick a funny name like 'ihavAIDSplshalp' because there is a serious lack of funny names.
