*snip* Upon arrival you find the power doesn't work in the house, so the lights cannot be turned on, your only source of light, a Bic lighter. *snip*
As a pyro, this game would be pretty short. Those Bic Lighters don't last long with continual use.

OT - I would like to see a game based on the life of Steve Irwin. Preferably if it was made by Tim Schaffer. That'd be hilarious.
This would just be a segment of one level in this hypothetical game.

How about a sandbox game that takes place in a zombie outbreak, and instead of haveing just weired mutants lets' have actual, undead, slow a$$ zombies. Also, instead of a health bar a zombie could just grab you when he gets close enough, and if you let him bite you (by not pressing X to not die) its game over.

One thing I've always wanted to see is similar in concept to Heavy Rain...

Imagine an FPS game with a similar real-time flow to it as Half-Life 2. However, you don't have any guns or weapons, and it's all about drama instead of action. It would be only about two hours long for each playthrough, but there would be all sorts of different possible ways to go through it depending on your choices and responses, as well as where you decide to go.

For interaction, it could interpret looking up and down twice in quick succession and nodding your head "Yes", and looking left and right twice quickly as "No". Interactions with people and objects would be made as simple and intuitive as possible. Objects in your hand would be used like firing a an FPS weapon.
Huh, I actually really like this idea. Would it be like a open design, where you just wake up as your character one day and just walk around the neighborhood exploring and talking to people, with no clear goal at first? Cause I think a game like that would be awesome, where every inhabitant of your area has his or her own story and maybe a quest, like getting a cat out of a tree, or finding a lost bike, or helping a man file his divorce proceedings. At the end of each 2-hour run there could be a score of how much of a difference you made in people's everyday lives, for better or worse, and a short paragraph explaining what your actions that day evnetually led to (e.g. "Upon realizing that you helped a neighbor cover up robbing a drug store, your wife eventually divorced you, and your house was then sold to a young drug addict, you eventually got Ms. Norris's kid addicted to heroin, leading to his suicide 17 years after you left the community", or, if you never found a date for Ms.Norris that day, the drug addict instead is just mentioned as being a loner, whose neglect of his house lowered everyone else's property values)

Basically, what I', doing here is going through peoples posts, letting my mind wonder while trying to interpret their explanation, and typing out these thoughts. Its fun, I encourage you to try it :p

Thanks you very much, but the majority of the credit goes to XMark for the original idea. Thanks, though

Not really original (seeing as it involves zombies), but an MMORPG that takes place in a zombie infested world. It would have S.T.A.L.K.E.R style difficulty and you will be very reliant upon your friends and tactics. I wrote about 60 pages of gameplay details (I was really, really bored for a bit of my summer).

Just so everybody knows, Bethesda and Activision don't accept game ideas, even if they are written. One of my friends sent in his game idea and got messages saying something like "We appreciate the support, but we do not accept game ideas from outside sources."

I came up with an idea for an RPG battle system which I'm actually going to incorporate into my game that I'm making. It's hard to explain without pictures but it basically goes like this:

The battle is viewed from above with your party and the enemy party starting at different ends of a rectangular map. The map would have various things throughout it such as hills, walls, ect. and be broken into columns. At the beginning of your turn you can either move forward, move backward, take cover, interact with another party member., or switch your weapon. If you take cover then the game searches for cover in the column you are in first, if it doesn't find any then it searches the column behind you and if it still doesn't find any then it looks in front of you. If it doesn't find cover then you will be unable to take cover and have to do something else. If you choose to interact with a party member then you can do things like trade equipment and heal each other. Interacting with a teammate ends your turn though.

After you've moved or taken cover you can attack. When you attack the game turns into a FPS and you have a certain number of shots that you can take. The closer and the higher up you are (like if you are on a hill), combined with how high your level is, the more accurate your shots are. If you manage to move in the same, or adjacent column as an enemy then you can perform a melee attack that has a chance of killing but in general will just do more damage.

The process then repeats for the enemies turn.

This isn't really game-play but wouldn't it be cool if a game's graphics looked like folded paper and origami?

Heres mine:

A new type of melee combat:
Each limb and body part of your enemy has a button mapped to it. The head, cheast, stomach, both arms, and both legs. Lets assume 'b' is the opponents right arm. If he swings with that arm, you would press b to block his punch. If that arm is inactive and you press b, you would attempt to grab it. Or if you press both leg buttons, you character would try to sweep both the oppenents legs out. Hitting just one leg button would be a dead leg. Keep in mind all of these attacks can be blocked if the enemy player presses the button of whatever limb you use.
So a fight might go like this:
Player 1 jumps out in front of Player 2 and attempts to go for a surprise head punch.
Player 2 reacts in time blocks the punch by pressing the button mapped to Player 1's right arm.
Player 2 uses this opening to press the 'head' button twice in rapid succession, for a 'one-two punch'.
Player 1 takes one hit but blocks the other, and by reacting quick enough, grabs the fist he just blocked.
Pressing both leg buttons, he sweeps Player 2's feet out from beneath him. He presses the Head button and curb-stomps Player 2's skull.

All of this would happen in about 2 seconds, very Jason Bourne-y
