-snip- Raptors may not be very cool by modern standards, but Jurassic Park Raptors were based of the Deinonychus, which was the size of the Raptors in JP, ergo, Deinonychus is cool and the creatures based off it are also cool. -snip-
Evidence suggests that Deinonychus also had feathers. Besides, if the things in Jurassic park were supposed to be Deinonychus, why not call them Deinonychus? I'll tell you why: because they were just making shit up in accordance with what they thought looked and sounded cooler. The only similarities they had to either Velociraptor or Deinonychus were the sickle claw because unfortunately the Jurassic park team didn't think creatures resembling large turkeys were cool enough. That picture you posted is also outdated and inaccurate, and looks as though it has been taken from a children's book. I didn't fall into a trap. You're just wrong.
They were called Velociraptors because the name sounds awesome.
Yes they chose the non-feathered raptors because they looked cool, I never said they didn't and I never said they didn't have feathers.
I found the picture on google images because I was sleepy and didn't really give a shit.
You fell into a trap because I knew you'd argue with me.
Also, the original poster never said "Velociraptors" specifically. They said "Raptors", meaning that you made the leap to the velociraptor, instead of assuming they were using the the term in a colloquial turn of phrase, denoting a pop culture icon instead of a real creature.
