Ryu Hayabusa. Every single enemy this guy encounters can kill him, but he out maneuvers and out kills them first. Most characters can breeze through lesser enemies, but Ryu's lesser enemies are so far above most games, so much more badass themselves, that only someone truly badass like Ryu could hope to make it through 20 levels of them.
Also, just to talk with his uncle, he has to kill like 100 ninjas. Not only that, then he has to best his nunchaku wielding uncle in single combat before talking.
Furthermore, Ryu is so badass he can defeat people in real life. How often do you think someone has played DMC or God of War and said "screw this!" and never played it again? Now how often do you think that has happened with Ninja Gaiden? Yeah, exactly.

absolutely, and also Big Boss and Sephiroth. I also really like Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear, and the fact that he is partially based off of Freddy Mercury and that Queen is his favorite band makes him even cooler. Also, Magus from Chrono Trigger. The position where he tugs the edge of his glove is probably the coolest looking two character sprites in gamingGroovewood said:
