Okay, so, I just saw three pretty hardcore music videos.

These 3 are my personal favorites.

This one just made me think "What were they on when they made this?"

Okay, so what are YOUR top 3 music videos? (and maybe one that made you think "What were they on?")

I like these threads. I'm gonna open with some Autechre, because they attract uncanny numbers of REALLY GOOD original fan video productions.

Autechre Fan Videos:

Autechre Official Videos:

Watch these and be entertained.

Oh yay! Music videos:

These three are fairly profound/trippy. Plus, the songs are just entertaining.

Yay, I love music themed threads! Top 5 incoming:

1) Obscure by Dir En Grey: The video is so horrible messed up and I LOVE it!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Code Monkey by Jonathan Coulton: While its not an official video its one of the best AMVs I've seen.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3)Toki's Cat Dream Song by Toki of Dethklok: Okay, so this actually part of a Metalocalypse episode, but I'm counting it because its fucking hilarious
You kinda have to watch the episode to know what the hell they're singing about though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4)El Manana by Gorillaz: No comment. It's just good.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5)The Gun Show by In This Moment: Maria brink in sexy clothes with a gun... 'nuff said.

This one never ceases to amuse me it in how simple it is.

Not sure if it's the video or the song but love this so much!

Anything directed by Floria Sigismondi. A couple of examples are Blue Orchid by the White Dtripes and Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson. She just has such an eye for creepy but beautiful.

One of the greatest single continuous take videos, Here It Goes Again by OK Go.

One of the greatest rock songs ever, Sabotage by Beastie Boys.

One of the funniest songs ever, I'm On A Boat by The Lonely Island.

A really crazy video. They made it grayscale, then added in whatever colours they wanted. Basket Case by Green Day.

And finally, "[t]his is the greatest and best song in the world", Tribute by Tenacious D

Oh how many videos i could post here... I'm going to break the rules and post 5 though.

One band still not mentioned by anyone so far has been Radiohead. They have had quite a few gems that have really stood out as spectacular music videos, but none as prolific as "Just"

Radiohead - Just

Something strangely satisfying about watching the next video =P

Fatboy Slim feat. Bootsy Collins - Weapon Of Choice

Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity

On a side note - liking/loving a song has no merit on what makes a great music video. Case and point, Bjork.

Bjork - All Is Full of Love

*PS- I hate Bjork*

Lastly one that may be fairly unknown but definitely up there as a must see.

U.N.K.L.E. featuring Thom Yorke - Rabbit in Your Headlights
