The Honest Politician. The ability to actually make a difference for the greater good of the country/humanity. Too bad they're mythical.

Or maybe God ... because, you know ... it's God! Omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent creator of everything ... able to split himself in two or three parts and kill one of them, then resurrect himself. Plus, the ability to completely contradict oneself at various times, yet still have millions of people believe everything any iron age tribesmen wrote about you 1,500 years (or even longer) ago is absolute truth. That's pretty awesome.

No contest. Dragons are just awesome in a dragon shaped box. They fly[footnote]this alone immediately puts them in the top ten most awesome things[/footnote], breathe fire, some are incredibly wise, they can watch the passage of time. They are just awesome!

Satyrs.

They spend their days playing, dancing, drinking, generally procrastinating and mostly likely banging nymphs.

Well, there's a reason that dragons have such an exposure in fantasy worlds: Flying, fire breathing possibly immortal beasts of awesomeness, either them, or the Leprechauns (Because I do live in Ireland, and you have to give the little people some love every so often, or they'll come and steal me Lucky Charms!)

Look it up it´s awesome :D
I'm looking it up, but all I get is pictures of random women D:

OT: I'm stuck between Dragons and Griffons, with Phoenix(es/i/s?/pl.) coming in second. Hmm, they all happen to be able to fly...

Either a Phoenix:

or a Golem:

Reasons? The Phoenix is an immortal bird of living fire, which is just kick-ass no matter how you define the term.

The Golem? Going by the traditional mythology, it's a gigantic hulking creature of stone that you can create in any shape and it exists purely to do whatever you command it to do.

Honorable mention goes to the Manticore:

and to the Griffin:

Just because they both look cool.

Dragons. Always and forever. They come in a massive variety of appearances and powers, pretty much every human culture has tales of something recognizably draconic, and even in legends where the dragon gets killed the dragon has usually taken out a few dozen/hundred/thousand humans first. Often their slayer doesn't survive the battle either.

I've always sort of preferred the dragons who don't bother with humans, though. I envy that power and freedom: they can do what they want, when they want, and human beings just don't really matter to them one way or the other unless they make a repeated nuisance of themselves or stop in for the occasional chat.

this isnt my name said:
Phoenix. A dragon cant hurt it, its already on fire, and if it did, it would just reincarnate.
unless the dragon used it's talons to grab the phoenix and throw the bird into the ocean and killed it there. no fire, no rebirth. besides, a dragon can live in volcanoes. so would be impervious to anything the phoenix could do to it. and fire isn't the only breathe weapon a dragon possesses. it always depends. some can breathe poison.

on topic: dragon, obviously. and not the wyvern BS like skyrim has. im talking about four legged, two sets of shoulder bone, intelligent dragons. True Dragons. like the one from merlin the series. or Hephaestus. even Smaug.

Jinn. It's where genies derive from, by mythology they are created from the same fire as the devil himself. They are much like us but live in a paralleled world meaning one could be right next to you as you read this, they are sentient life forms.

I never seen one but my dad said he had an encounter with one during his travels in Saudi Arabia.

A talented musician. They all went extinct in the past decades.

That or a good game. Shit, it's like everything with a positive adjective in front of it's name is almost extinct/long forgotten.
