Any new Bioware IP is of interest to, regardless of who works on it! But this sounds good, together with DA3 I have a lot to look forward to.

Wow, it actually happened. They announced a new project and my feeling toward this news is complete apathy. Guess I really didn't know for sure until now. I'm officially off the train.

The people that wrote for KOTOR, the people that made it interesting, aren't at Bioware anymore. So all that's left are the people that ruined the finale of Mass Effect.

Woo-hoo...
I have to agree.

All these people did was make the game mechanics, music and graphics, they may have been good at the time but it's not really much to boast about. KoTOR was not a sucess because of these things (they did help though), KoTOR was a success because the story was awesome, the "world" and the characters were awesome.

Nobody replays KoTOR because of gameplay or graphics, they do it for the story, world and characters.

And the people who made the story, world and characters are gone.

That is okay to know...
I have to say one thing though: The very moment someone comes and says it is supposed to be trilogy or whatnot I'm out of the game.

New Bioware IP? A new chance to fall in love with a new universe, new stories and characters, and to have your heart ripped out of your chest by milking the franchise or simply ruining the established lore. But probably both.

Can't wait!

We are all pissed at Bioware for screwing the ending of Mass Effect 3, that's a given. But at its core, the team is still very talented and as it was mentioned before in the comments, it's the EA overlords we should be worried about!

Mass effect 3 was pushed back once and it should have been pushed back twice. That multiplyer mode was completely out of place, as were the map/gun packs... I know some of you actually enjoyed the multiplayer of Mass Effect 3 but it should not have been there to begin with!

Truth is, seing all the big boys leaving the company makes me veeery skeptical about the next Bioware games... Dragon Age III was pushed back 1 year and while that may show us that the game needs a lot of work, it comes to show they are able to delay a game if it needs work! As for the new IP, I have cautious but huge hopes for it!

Mass Effect is my favorite franchise of all time and so I trust they will bring us anoher Universe with quality characters and a great storyline! As long as they aren't pressured for time or useless gameplay features... Having the Kotor guys there will only make the game better I believe!

I wish I could be excited about this. I really do. But the best of Bioware has already left the team, and the people remaining in the writing/directing dept are either hacks, unwilling to take criticism, or both. I still have some hope that David Gaider could learn from his mistakes in DA2(which is still one of my favorite modern Bioware games from a storytelling standpoint, despite its flaws), but even if he did, he's working on DA:I, so I still have little hope for a new game. I could be proven wrong, but I certainly am not getting my hopes up.

On a related note, they really aren't doing themselves any favors by letting Casey "Star Child" Hudson speak. Let him go work for Zynga or something.

Well, unlike some people (Actually it seems like MOST people), I still unequivocally love Bioware, so I'm really excited about this.

I'll be interested when we know what it is. "We're working on something," is not an enlightening or surprising announcement.

Also, the obligatory, "I liked Mass Effect 3 and the ending, and it worked way better before they were man-handled into some half-arsed rewrite."

Because come on, he was obviously being indoctrinated.

I will play a [Male/Female] [DPS/Ranged/Tech/Hybrid] who is recruited into the [Jedi/Grey Knights/Spectres] to save the [World/Kingdom/Galaxy] from the return of the [Sith/Reapers/Darkspawn] after we're betrayed by [obvious face/heel turn character].

Oh wait it's a new IP?

Nevermind, I'm sure it'll be awesome.

(Snarkyness aside, Bioware does quality work telling fun and engaging stories, it's just that the framework tends to be a bit samey.)

Although they are good at create a new world and populate it with lores... but this time I'm hoping for a modern world spy story. Or cop/detective story.

All I can do right now is remember a time during my childhood where the sentence "Bioware announces that they are working on new IP" would have me more excited than 3 Santas, mowing all of the lawns to scrounge enough money in preparation.

Sadly, my only genuine response to this is that I'm going to have to idly wait until release, read some trusted reviews, and do nothing that involves throwing money based on blind faith. Call me a hipster or whatever but that faith has been thoroughly squandered.

I hope the new IP is something more down to earth. Space, fantasy, and martial arts is fine and all but sometimes I like modern day games that have nothing to do with magic, telekinesis, world destroying sentient machines, water gods, and/or ghosts. I would like to see them make an assassin game where players can choose whomever they want to kill and doing so either helps or hinders the player, affects the people around, and ultimately changes the ending.

Glad to hear that they will be making a new title, I enjoyed Dragon Age II...well, somewhat, at least I enjoyed the characters in it, and I liked the story of ME III, so it will be interesting to see what they come out with. Granted, if Dragon Age III and this game is shit, I'll probably give up completely on the wondrous being that was once known as Bioware.

Well I don't doubt that back then they were capable of some great stuff, but Bioware has come a long way since then (among other things the daddies of RPGs and Bioware left) and I doubt the remaining EAware is allowed to produce anything without a bitter aftertaste.
