OK, I know it's probably just an urban myth, and I feel totally stupid for asking it, but...do cornflakes really lower your libido? I mean, I know about Kellogg's antisexual backstory and his advocation of circumcision for young boys, but I didn't think his (admittedly bland-as-fuck-without-sugar) cereal would be directly tied to it. If so...well, shouldn't they do something about it? The only people I can think of who would actually want to decrease their libido would be sex addicts, paedophiles, and people ashamed of their sexuality (most likely, of the religious persuasion).

What.

Corn flakes are literally smashed corn.

What do you think he's putting in there? Magical anti-lidibo drugs?

Youve got to pour them into your special lady/man friends orifice, add the "milk", then eat them with a vibrating spoon. Im truly sorry that i wrote that sentence. I may have to fake my own death now. Nice knowing you all. Bye!

Well, Joseph Kellogg also used to run a clinic that started off all treatments with a yogurt enema so I wouldn't be surprised if that were the official instructions.

OT: No, they don't, but it isn't exactly an urban myth. The person who invented them had the mistaken idea that sex/masturbation was a flaw in humanity, and that eating plain/healthy food would cure people of the desire for it.

It isn't a joke, he originally made them as a way of stopping masturbation. We discussed this back when I took psychology.

He wasn't the most... intelligent of men.

He wasn't the most... intelligent of men. He had an old fashioned view of sex, and thought healthy/clean living would stop people from desiring it. He was very much of the old school "sex is sinful" kind of people.
They thought the same of graham crackers. That doesn't mean they were right, and it certainly doesn't mean that you're lowering your libido because the inventor thought that eating the product would do that.

In no shape or form was I intending to suggest they did. It's one of those cases of hitting enter too early. My response has been edited above.

They where really invented to combat that, but they have no effect on libido as far as such a thing is measurable (which is not very)
