Different strokes for different folks. I've known some extremely talented cosplayers, personally. Sure, there are the bad ones - and they outnumber the skilled ones tremendously - but some people just find it fun.johnx61 said:I guess that's a valid question.CantFaketheFunk said:Why?
For every one good cosplayer, there's three hundred scary, ugly or creepy looking ones. And perhaps this is the introvert in me kicking in. But I fail to understand why anyone would want to go out in public looking like they fell into a pastel paint vat right before they got stuck in a hair-gel rainstorm.
I mean, I've watched anime, played games, and sat through nerdy movies plenty of times in my life. Never once, though, have I felt the need to dance around in stormtrooper armor.
So if there's something about this cosplay thing that's obviously over my head. Feel free to enlighten me.
I swear I am blind now. Damn you to hell for posting that.cuddly_tomato said:Here is Ivy from Soul Calibur.

Find me some good Ivys.
Only fat ugly loser co-players suck. Hot sexy chicks that do good co-play rule.zee666 said:I feel sorry for cosplayers, they must have really shite lives to want to dress up as some emo prancy twat from some JRPG or other.

What if they want to dress up as someone from BioShock?zee666 said:I feel sorry for cosplayers, they must have really shite lives to want to dress up as some emo prancy twat from some JRPG or other.

That never stopped this guy...Theophenes said:Cosplay is something I've watched and found interesting, but never done for the same reason I never got into a lot of things. For starters, I don't really resemble any character from anything I've ever played, and I'm poor. Really really poor. There's also no cons in my town of Reno, Nevada, so opportunities are minimal at best for it.
At the first time I was at Comic Con, I saw a guy dressed as Supergirl and a second dressed as Aeonflux. Sadly, I think that was better than the fat chick in a loincloth.CantFaketheFunk said:Why?johnx61 said:Ugh, cosplay.

Me and my friends are planning to go as a X-Wing and Tie Fighter. I'm going to be a random pilot, one is going to be a R2 unit and my third friend, who is Thai, is going to be a Tie fighter. Of course it will be made out of spray painted cardboard. How would that not be awesome?Rajin Cajun said:Agreed. /Threadzee666 said:I feel sorry for cosplayers, they must have really shite lives to want to dress up as some emo prancy twat from some JRPG or other.
Sounds sweet sheic, hope it works for you. I actually have no fear of cosplayers, don't know why I don't though.sheic99 said:Me and my friends are planning to go as a X-Wing and Tie Fighter. No, you haven't seen ugly until you've seen the dreaded...Michael_McCloud said:You haven't seen ugly until you've seen a 300 lb. Spartan.
On another note, there was a Cloud Strife at this year's Megacon that was frickin' amazing, but I don't have any pics.
If I can get the image on the face mask right, I'm planning on going next year as everyone's favorite trenchcoated stoic psychopath. Saying everything with a low monotone voice ought to be fun.
