Hey escapist! I'm just curious, but what's a cosplay everyone has wanted to do but has just never gotten the time to do?

For me, I've been meaning to cosplay Gomez from the game Fez, and by doing that I was just planning a white dress, white flats, a fez, and maybe a white wig? But with the whole Phil Fish thing happening i've been worried about getting bullshit on it.

My other one is Doctor Darling from Far Cry 3 blood dragon, but the problem is no one knowing who I am.

But really, what's a cosplay everyone else has wanted to do?

I got two . Being black , there aren't a whole lot of cosplay i can do accurately . Mychoices are somewhat limited . There are only 2 people i think i can pulloff ( from anime ) . The first is tousen from bleach . I would love to cosplay as him , i would however need to grow my hear to make cornrows( a style i hate to death )

The second is afro samurai , i can get an afro pretty easy , it's the ensemble that i'm too lazy to get around to buying.

However , if i do one i can most likely do the other , we have a anime convention here in montreal , i think imma get my act together and try for next year . Now if i could just find two people to cosplay as aisen and Gin ( gen?), i'd do it in a new york minute.

I've never done cosplay before, but I'm losing weight right now and I'm determined to get around to getting a River Song (from Doctor Who) outfit within the next year. Specifically, this outfit:

I've been looking for this dress for about a year now. The original dress is from the company All Saints and it's called Zeeda, but it's been out of production for a long time now. Every now and then one will pop up on Ebay (usually black, I have yet to spot the taupe color I need), and I'm having trouble deciding if I should go ahead and buy it and then take it to a dressmaker to have them remake it in the color and size I need, or just go straight to a dressmaker and see what they can do. I once found an off-brand version of it made of linen instead of lyocell, but I lost it and now I can't seem to find it.

I'm thinking I might just go ahead and go to a local dressmaker with the picture and see what they think. Many other kind cosplayers who have/have reproduced this dress have helpful pictures at different angles posted online, so I don't think I'm short on information about it.

Pff, screw accuracy, cosplay whoever you want. Most anime characters who look white are actually Asian anyway, and I don't see any white convention-goers letting that stop them ;-)

I haven't cosplayed... I always feel I'd be called out with the "do you remember "x" episode when "this character" did that one thing? And I would have to stare back at them with a blank stare of confusion. Then be taunted as not a real fan. But I would like to go as Kenshin Hamora (spelling is probably crap). I'm a big fan of the series, but with most things in life, despite following them I'm not "that into" anything enough to know all the particulars.

This might be a double post due to captcha issues

Edit: And Heihachi from Samurai 7

Unfortunately, the number of goateed characters I know is pretty limited. Maybe, I'll do BLops-Era Reznov.

If I cared to put in the time or money. A bearded Japanese school girl would be pretty funny too.

My end goal is to create a cosplay of:

A tactical Space Marine from Warhammer 40k

First of all I'm going to start with PDF/guardsmen armour and work my way up.

How much money would I need to send you to make me a member of the Kasrkins?

OT:

If I was into cosplay I think I could pull off Edward Elric. I've got the blonde hair, just have to grow it out. Unfortunately I'm much taller than him, so I'd have to be post-series Ed, which is fine.

Failing that, Adam Jensen. The sunglasses/face combo is the coolest, and what ladies don't like huge trenchcoats?

And of course Kasrkins because they're the coolest fighting force of the 40k universe.

Oh, and HUNK from Resident Evil, because no one beats Mr. Death.

Well I did finally got around to cosplaying Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes.

In saying so before I decide to cosplay him, I was originally wanted to cosplay Zoro from One Piece but the problem trying to cosplay him was dying my hair green and getting hold of three katana props or very fake looking ones.

Even though it's not really original I've always wanted to dress up as Harley Quinn and have my boyfriend be The Joker. I'm just short a Harley Quinn costume, a Joker costume and a boyfriend. And since seeing the Despicable Me 2 movie I really wanna cosplay with a bunch of friends as minions, that would be fun.

depends on route you are willing to take.

I'm going with a 3D printer (which I've already bought) which can have a high outlay but the actual materials and construction will be fairly easy.

There are also certain materials you can get that can be hardened to make armour as well as some harder foam products that are available, but they can vary in price and require some expertise in order to create something as complex as Stormtrooper/Kasrkin Carapace.

Silly Easton, that's not how you spell "Death Korp of Krieg"

Just never got round to it I guess, that costume looks like effort.

I have my "Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer" though so I'm less likely to be executed for laziness than I otherwise would be.

I've got one... but it requires me to somewhat spoil an important detail that kinda sorta acts as a twist about one of the major characters in Dangan Ronpa soooooo yeah...
Okay so I've yet to see someone do a cannon proper Chiriro Fujisaki...

And by "cannon proper" I mean where the cosplayer is a boy or someone born male, as during chapter three it's learned that Chihiro is actually a cross-dresser and is in-fact a biological male (there's a huge ass debate going on within the fandom as to what his/her gender identity actually is).
The problem though is that I just don't think I'm young enough to pull his/her character off, I mean I'm nineteen and he/she is supposed to be seventeen, plus I just don't think any living human, especially not me, can attain the level of cuteness Chihiro is at...

I'd like to cosplay as my avatar, Fon Spaak.

Apart from the core problem of costume making, I'd need to be a bit more muscular and deal with the annoyance of coloured contacts.

Ive always wanted to cosplay Spike from Cowboy Bebop, I've got big boofy hair like Spike, so all i'd have to do spray it green, making the suit would be easy. I actually bought a second hand blue suit with a light blue lining and a yellow shirt with a big collar for 3 bucks with the intent on making a spike suit. But I never got round to making it.

Though I'm probably never going to be going anywhere that people are cosplaying, let alone actually cosplaying myself if I were to go, I'd kinda like to go as Hubert from Tales of Graces.
The main reason is that he's the only character that I can think of that I both actually like and could get away with wearing my glasses. It's a shame his coat's such a weird design and would be really difficult to make look right.
And also his thigh-high boots look really uncomfortable.

To help keep the 40k feel of this thread I'd love to make this costume...

Would just have to dye my hair and spend far too much money
