Could Asuras Wrath work on a Kinect?

I was just thinking about kinect games and how they don't work with subtle movements, and how a magic game would work on kinect because you can have the big movements and no frame of reference really for it.

Then I got to thinking, Asuras wrath has big movements, a complete lack of subtlety, and isn't hugely interactive, just a lot of QTEs and stuff like that.

So what do you guys think? Could Asuras Wrath work on the Kinect?

(I have neither a Kinect or Asuras Wrath, and have only played the demo)

It could even work without player input, so yes it would also work with Kinect.
I would just make it so people need to spazz out nonstop or the game pauses, sort of like a reverse QTE, so instead of unpausing with an action the game pauses if you aren't flailing your limbs.

Dear God man, can you imagine how freaking exhausting it would be?

"Punch faster! Punch 10,000 times! Run in place! Scream and punch! Throw a thousand fireballs!"

Each episode would be a crazy workout, I'd probably have a heart attack if I tried to pass the whole game in one sitting.

yeah most games can work on kinect now work well thats a different matter I personally see Asuras Wrath as watch crazy shit happen press button watch more crazy shit now short easy gameplay section now sit back and think how awesome you are for doing all that crazy shit. If it was kinect I would be to knackered to care about whats happening or getting to pissed off with its unresponsiveness.

...that's brilliant!

New marketing gimmick:

Asura's Wraith: Burn off those pounds with fast action fighting!

I have a Kinect, which I purchased with the sole intention of using for exercise (UFC: Ultimate Trainer to be specific so I know the Kinect is precise enough to pick up punches/kicks thrown at the screen) and purchasing a traditional video game that has been tweaked to work as an exercise game would be a really cool idea.

Capcom, if you're listening, @Treeinthewoods has given you a free million dollar idea...

Ahahahaha that would be glorious. Instead of "press X to not die," it would be "flail around to not die." And they say two wrongs can't make a right. It would need local multiplayer tho.

Did you write a review of some kind? I'm interested in this for when I move.

A review for the Kinect or for UFC? I haven't written any official reviews but I can give you my thoughts of them (as long as you don't mind OP, I can trash this and post it somewhere else if you do since I don't want to take over your thread; just let me know. Although since you don't have a Kinect, maybe this will interest you as well).

The Kinect itself is a neat device for gaming but it's still stuck in the "Potential" mode. There are virtually no "gamer games" for the device that have been released, with most of them having the Wii's problem (mini-games and shovel-ware). The games that ARE good for it are not really the "hardcore" games, with Dance Central being the best one that I've played (I've heard Child of Eden is good but I have not played it). I have heard for exercise, EA Fit 2 is one of the best games for the device (which I intend to get soon, I bought UFC because I wanted a manly man's kind of exercise game).

UFC is a great tool for toning but seems to be inadequate for serious weight loss (so I haven't really lost weight using it but I can see that I look better in the mirror than I did previously. This may be my fault though for not changing my diet though). The exercises it gives you are things you are able to do without special equipment (though I'd recommend getting some dumbbells, kettle-bells, or some variety of weights), which is really nice. The "official" routines take about twenty minutes or so to complete, though you can create your own routines using the game to exercise however long you want. The Kinect sensor rarely has trouble picking me up and crediting me for the exercise (though when it does miss one and you're burning from exercise, it takes a lot of restraint to not throw the weight through the TV)

The one big flaw is that if you do the pre-set workouts with the calendar, there is no way to change the calendar to fit your needs. It gives you two days off a week but the game sets this, not you (for example, I have soccer on Wednesdays/Sunday and Ultimate Frisbee on Thursdays but the calendar won't give me time off for these). It's a minor complain but could be a death-nail in the game if you have a unforgiving schedule in real life (with soccer season starting, I will probably have to quite UFC). I use the game because I need structure while exercising or I give up on it, so if I don't use the calendar function, it's too easy for me to just start missing days.

The last thing to remember with the Kinect is this: You need room and you need a lot of it. I live in a studio apartment and I need to move furniture every time I want to play it. You should have at least six feet of space MINIMUM in front of the Kinect in order to use it, with more needed if you want multi-player.

TLDR; Kinect has a lot of potential but minimal amount of good games. UFC has some great things going for it but could use some work in the calendar function.

They do need to make some ultra-violent game compatible with Kinect.

*Punch into that guy's chest and rip his heart out!

*Use magic to make the heart combustible and throw it like a grenade!

*Make an angry face!

*NOT ANGRY ENOUGH!!!!

*Kill 11 doods with one sweep of a scythe!

*1,000 bicycle kicks to the boss' face or you lose the game!

Yay, you took the time.

When they started announcing all the training programs is when I started looking at the Kinect more, but I haven't lived in a place with sufficient room. This is about to change. I would also try the dancing stuff for cardio. I believe the UFC Calendar thing would also help me out greatly, it's nice to know.

The other problem I have is the screen. I've been gaming on an HD monitor for 2 years so I don't have a, nor watch, TV. With the distances involved, how big would you say the screen has to be?

As for Asura's Wrath, I think I would enjoy it more without the Kinect, but Capcom sucks so bad I'll just get it used and buy some DLC for the ending. I bet they'll be happy about getting the cash-grab part of my money, at least.

I'm thinking The Darkness Kinect, or maybe add a function for Mortal Kombat that lets you do fatalities with your hands instead of the controller. O_O

More optional hybrid gameplay, please!

Depends on how good your eyesight is : )

For most games on the Kinect, the tutorials and the game-play uses broad, sweeping motions to show you how to do things. My monitor is 13", which I would think is too small. I'd recommend...well, my TV is 27" so I'd think that a 19" or higher would be best (However, I wear glasses normally but not during my workouts so my judgement on TV size may be skewed). You probably could get away with a smaller TV for UFC (since I'm guessing most of you know what a push-up is already and the game has tutorials to show you exercises you don't know).

Back to OT: I did think about this after I posted earlier. Now, I haven't played Asura's Wrath but if it is a big quick-time event type of game (button mashing, press X to not die, etc.), you could look at Heavy Rain from the PS3 as a great example. It was not designed with the PlayStation Move in mind, however, they incorporated the ability after it was released and was supposedly a big success. So if other QTE-heavy games can pull it off, I bet you could get Asura's Wrath to do it.
