I've noticed that Tom has been consistent and methodical in planning his throws and he is pretty accurate as well. is it safe to say he has the mind of a military stratagist? is it possible for quarterbacks to be like military stratagists?

Football is a war simulation. It's about taking territory from your opponent and defending your own. In a real war that means killing people with lots of stuff. In football it's more attrition-based. So yeah, it's no great stretch to see him as kind of one.

I think he could be. There is a lot more to football than casual observers like to think. It isn't just big guys crashing into each other.

I don't believe he is the one creating the plays (correct me if I am wrong).

In this case, I'd say its more of the one designing the plays that could be compared to a military strategist.

Tom is just given options each play and quickly decides which one is the best.

More of a squad leader.

A good quarterback is a great field commander, and shows technical precision and quick decision making.

valid point you have there, for all we know he may of had some hand into some of the plays creations?

In military terms Brady would be the tactician while Brian Belichick would be the strategist.

Yes, which is why I compared him to more of a squad leader, who also most likely has a hand in creating the tactics.

I figured that since his is in a quarterback position, his military comparison would be one that is much closer to the battlefield than a military strategist.

Lol what? Tom Brady, or a quarterback, is to a general like asbestos is to healthy for you. I get how much people like sports, but really this is just in excess. Yes Brady is really good at throwing balls and "simulating warfare" since that, in a very far removed sense, is kind of what football is, but this whole "sports is the most amazing thing ever" kick that people get on I just can't get behind.

Fun to watch, just not anything to worship or lose sleep over.

Great squad leader, possibly the worlds greatest grenadier, but the strategist role would have to be Big Bill, especially when he has to decipher the monster that is the Patriots playbook.

He cheats and is on team that cheats. In a way since there is no rules in war I suppose he could be but I'd be inclined to say no.
woah hey no need to hate and we did have our pitfalls and it was one time and we got caught.

tom brady is a boss, yeah he doesn't write the damn plays, but he executes them on the go with any weapon at his disposal, so with that he is an amazing squad leader

He could be compared to a military strategist, but that would be like comparing someone who drives a bus to the pilot of an airliner. There are obvious parallels but asking a bus driver to fly an airliner wouldn't end well for anyone.
I realize there is plenty of strategy to football, but in an actual war there are so many unknowns and factors that it is completely different. With football everything is made to certain specifications and rules. The field will always be the same size, the ball will always be made of the same material, there will always be a set number of players, and the people playing will always be wearing regulation gear. A quarterback always knows these things but no one is going to stop to call a penalty in a war.
