No. The only reason I played Oblivion was mods, and I already played the game so much, I would probably never want to play it again.

A many people bought skyrim for a reason it is to see the master creators of oblivion make it look like
Rubbish and as this thread and the games have shown they have quite easily achieved this to
Rather then say better games were in the past and all the shit games are in the future of this
Darn world but no instead we see a bright future ahead of us with this game this game shows
We will enjoy our future in games and that we will one day have a game that surpassed that of skyrim

Today I play skyrim tomorrow I still play skyrim and eventually i will play something better than it
Other games show promise like mass effect 3 and many others which we will experience and love

There are many reasons to hate the modern game Industry MW3 take your moneyz
Hate but not discontinue to love because we see that games are young and unsure in our world
Every game is an attempt to be the best although some attempts are better than others obviously

Know that our game developers excluding the most successful ones don't actually make much money
Never the less they strive on to deliver to the growing masses of gamers which yearn for better games
Either the pay or the threat of failure has stopped our artists of our craft so they should be given more respect
Even though my monolog is long read the first letter of every-line to see Its long running point

Aside from that, you spelt it wrong. You wrote "Arrdw to the knee".

Anyway, I'd never go back to Oblivion. Oblivion was boring, and I didn't really have fun while playing it.

dejay301 - I was about to berate you for your lack of punctuation, but then I saw what you did there :)

I've been considering re-installing Oblivion. However, when I see Oblivion videos on YouTube I'm always surprised at how friggin ugly all the people in Oblivion look. I remember them being ugly but didn't remember them being THAT ugly. The people of Skyrim are supermodels in comparison :)

I do remember sinking 100 hours or so into Oblivion back when I first had it. Got through the main quest and several sidequests along the way, but never finished any of the guild quest lines. I definitely remember the level scaling being pretty badly broken, but loved the game regardless. I'd like to see if the game still holds up.

I think I actually preferred oblivion. Skyrim seemed to be buggy, and half-assed to me. The NPCs were irritating as hell, and it seemed like there was no graphical difference at all. In fact, I recall oblivion seeming much much prettier.
\facepalm Skyrim is graphically superior to oblivion in every way imaginable. There were like 10 voice actors in oblivion, and somehow one beggar managed to have all their voices. Saying skyrim's npcs are irritating coming off oblivion is ridiculous. Either you are incredibly blinded by nostalgia, have terrible taste in games, or are trolling.

I won't. I loved oblivion, but I can't think of a single way that it surpasses skyrim. Magic is useless, combat felt detached, level scaling was just annoying, and there was like 10 voice actors. Besides, I don't think I will be done with skyrim any time soon

I'm waitnig for modders to recreate Vvardenfell in Skyrim, or - if it won't be possible, the Silgard Tower. F*ck yeah ! :)
I hope so, unless the "meaty" DLC that were hinted at will be revisits.

I dream for an Arena 2.0. Though it would probably be on like 8 discs.
Yeah, there are landmasses for both Vvardenfell and Cyrodill in the Skyrim - they are locked now, but... But... But...
Imagine awakening one day only to find that every TES CRPgame was remade, integrated into Skyrim...

Its only a matter of time before modders make cyrodil work with the creation engine. Too hard for me, I will stick with making my anchorman "NEWS TEAM ASSEMBLE" shout.

Skyrim fixed nearly every complaint I had about Oblivion. So no. No I could not. I deleted all my Oblivion saves anyways. And I'll be damned if I go through the Fighters guild questline again, or the mage's guild. Or anything like that.

I don't see how Skyrim could ever be considered half-assed. The level of detail and the size of the game alone should convince anyone otherwise..

I couldn't go back to oblivon because I'd already done everything on it, and it looks like crap compared to skyrim.

Could I? I did just that. The questlines in Oblivion are far superior, IMO. None of this "hour's worth of questing then forever getting crappy radiant busywork" junk for major questlines.

I did have to game the system a bit to get around its levelling (making my major skills my combat skills and skills I knew I'd never use) so I could grind my minor skills. A few mods brought back some of the nicer bits of Skyrim (weightless arrows, although archery doesn't seem half as sweet as it was in Skyrim). I'd hoped to find a mod that gave me the full 360-degree compass like Skyrim had, but no such luck. :p

I can go back to oblivion, but not for long. It's nice to go back and do everything again, I do that with tons of older games, but eventually I'll go back to Skyrim because it's just better all around.

I can.

The questlines are generally more fun to do in Oblivion, and longer. Even if the actual plot behind them is inferior.

Skyrim's Thieves' Guild wasn't very sneaky, especially at the end.

But only as a mage, really. The improvements to melee and stealth are too massive. Whereas mage are SHITTIER now without custom spells and whatnot.

I bought PC Oblivion recently for the first time, thinking i'd get to go back and have fun beating it all over again.

God Oblivion is terrible on PC! There is no take all button, the inventory screen is smaller and everytime you pick up arrows or sell stuff you have to hit that you are sure. Over and over.

Xbox didn't have any control problems or a bad UI or anything. PC version is so clunky it's almost unplayable though, and god damn if it isn't hard to get a controller to work properly with it.

I could never go back to Oblivion. The green, generic land of Cyrodiil still haunts me, with its dead-eyed NPCs that seemed to be part of a freakish hive mind, and the same three dungeons photocopied endlessly. Skyrim has a much more handcrafted feel to it, although many of the quests in Oblivion are more interesting (A Brush with Death, Through A Nightmare Darkly and Whom Gods Annoy, for instance) and the Dark Brotherhood quests are much better.

Probably not, even when I did play Oblivion it certainly wasnt for the gameplay, and the setting is rather bland if I do say so. Still I might try pick it up at least once in the future.

The thing i find funny is that in Oblivion i was scared to level up, In Skyrim, I cant wait to level up

eh, the only way i could truly go back to enjoying it is they brought oblivion into the new engine and world of skyrim, so if they did that massive overhaul like they did with morrowind, then i think i could enjoy it greatly...dominate cyrodil as a nord then rush north to single handedly take skyrim over? yes please.
