It's easy to do difficult to get away with because banks have sophisticated security systems. This is why most armed robbers prefer to hit Gas Stations and Burger Kings the best they usually have is a 20 year old grainy black and white camera.

As far as the armored car goes it's broad daylight typically so your chances of getting caught are high. The gaurds are also armed and know how to use the weapons.

Here's a dumbass who did it twice.

Everywhere I go; I always look for possible escape-routes and camera field-of-vision... Just in case.

I would probably not rob a bank though. Although if I did, then I'd probably get away with it. Because the only time I would rob a bank would be if I was sure I would make it and I had some really good reason for robbing it.

I was just thinking this about a local bank not too long ago, I was like "yeah, I could get like, thirty guys to help me" but I then realized I would have to share }:<
Just pull a Joker and kill them all after.

Yeah, I could do it, if I had a railgun.
I couldn't kill someone over money, even if they aren't willing to share.

No, I'm too polite to rob a bank. I would take too long trying to make sure anyone I shot was alright. Maybe if I rob the bank while a doctor is inside *ponders*

also with the armored trucks when their open and the security guys are in the bank?
Too bad where I live there are armed personnel with body armor and a key to even get into the truck. Those guys are paranoid as well; any hint of someone robbing them they will react.

Depends on the bank. If it was a normal one, maybe. If it was something like the famous Swiss banks, I would be killed by some nanosuit-wearing superguard before I got to a single vault.

Obviously, this topic needs more and professional feedback. Since most, if not all of you, are inexperienced in the field of bankrobbery, I suggest you call in pro's. Go to a bank clerc and ask them how high he or she estimates your chance of robbing this bank AND getting away with it. Then come back and report his or her findings. I'm sure we'll all find the results extremely contradicting to the the claims some of you here make after staking out the ins and outs of your local bank holding.

To make things more interesting, please wear appropriate clothing, like black pants, short and hat when popping the question.

Also bring a large, convenient bag.

In case you can't get to your own pc to post your findings, ask the nearest police officer at the station if you could use his pc instead of that one phonecall.

Hmmm I could... WITH SCIENCE!!!!

Although.. Robbing a bank? Seems a bit on the impossible side. Now, robbing the quickie-mart on the other hand...

sounds like a fun thing to try, and i could probably manage it if i knew the full layout of the bank and had a team who would obey orders.

not likely to happen though. besides, i don't like breaking rules.

Nope, banks are very good at not being robbed, I'm no professional thief so I would never be able to pull it off.
Also I believe when the armoured trucks are left open and the security guards have gone inside, they've taken the money with them.
This - add to that, the police are surprisingly good at detecting and foiling robbers.

I'd probably fail before I got there :(

Unless I has a small tactical nuclear device and some string.

I wouldnt have a clue where the vaults are on modern banks, or how to crack one. I would just hold up the cashiers and leg it.

Yep, banks aren't very good at not being robbed.
I'm a professional thief. I know what I'm talking about.

I'm no badguy, though. I give a significant percentage of my stealings to the poor and needy.

They call me a crook. I'd prefer scoundrel.

I could.... If i had a big bag, power armor, a mini-gun, and enough explosives to open the door to the vault. If somebody had those they don't need to be good... they just need to be strong enough to hold all the gear

Actually, it's very easy to rob a bank. People do it and get away all the time. The tellers are specifically told to hand over the money with out a fight if someone asks them to. That's why they have cameras. You'd be able to rob the place and get away but they'd have your face and track you down.

It's kinda pointless really, tellers only have a couple hundred in the registers.

ETA:

.....

If there are any FBI/CIA people reading this, I totally have no desire to rob a bank...

If you know both yourself and your enemy, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.

Floor plans, sewer links, security system, power cables, backup generators, crack squad, explosives, inside man, bribery, and you're home free.

Anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Seriously, compared to the impossible, this isn't that hard.
