Personally, I like 1.6 the best.

1.6 has some actual variation in weapons besides scope and no scope.

I don't see how CS:S was "dumbed down".

If I was playing competitively, I'd rather play 1.6 because it seems more pure and doesn't have the lame physics crap that you get hung up on: garbage laying around and such. But since I just play hohos, I play CS:S because it's prettier.

I really wish I could play 1.3.

What's really sad is that CS:S divided the community.

Source. It's faster pace and you don't have to deal with the flawed recoil of 1.6

I prefer source from what I've seen, but I don't particularly like either.

What are the advantages of 1.6 over source though? All I can tell is that the bullets go through everything, recoil is basically non-existent and the graphics are worse.

I prefer source, but only a bit. Its more realistic and modding is more flexible.
