OT: I don't want them to fix bunnyhopping and stuff, I really like CS:S the way it is. It certainly doesn't need fecking K ratios or statistics.

cool I had no idea they were trying to over haul it.

long past due in my opinion, CSS was great when it first came out but it's stale now
I don't think it'll bring CSS back to the for front but I hope it'll give it enough boost for me to paly it again

new guns and game mods can't hurt either I'm gonna go home a DL it asap

Heh, you're the first person to actually make a reference to my Dopefish. Is 'The Blue Box' your prediction that HL2: Episode 3, Portal 2 and Counter Strike Source 2(!?) will come in an uber box that'll needlessly include HL2, E1, E2, Portal, TF2 as well? God I hope not, I was annoyed enough with the Orange Box and STILL have HL2 and E1 sitting in my 'to gift' box.

Also i think the new update will break all the mods and custom maps..what with the new engine and requiring all the maps to be recompiled on OB settings soon. But that is just a guess.

Oh damn, I didn't even think of something like this - I've amassed quite a few decent maps over the years and it would suck to not be able to play them anymore.

AWP and autos arn't nerfed it seems. SUX.

(No but really a sniper that's one shot shouldnt be able to be used as a pistol and an AK should not be able to get an instant kill, it just SHOULDNT).

I saw this and I was like: "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Updates to CSS? Open... Beta...?"

And then I saw that the beta slots were full and I was like: "Sad face...."

The kill cam could be a good or bad thing, I care not for statistics.... so the record thing is kinda meh...

If they don't balance the guns a little better... I'd be surprised...

Dunno.
I hadn't heard of the Source beta, and thought that they would overhaul it a bit more.
Regardless you don't get too many Counter Strike threads on here...

I'm not much of a CS player, but isn't CS:S just 1.6 with better graphics?

Mostly...
As a 1.6 player I guess the differences between the two games are more noticable to me.
The guns have less recoil than in 1.6, which really kills the game for me after playing 1.6 for years.
Aiming, turning, etc feels a lot slower, even after I ramped up sensitivity (it's unheard of to play 1.6 on 6 sensitivity, but on Source it's still too slow)
I'm not saying Source is worse, I just don't prefer it...

My bigeest concern with the update (from what I've heard) is that they still haven't fixed my main problem with the game, which is the blatant overpowering of the M4, Ak47 and the AWP.

This is probably my noobish mouth blurting rubbish, but I rarely see guns other than these used on servers.

They should make The Orange Box 2 when Episode 3 comes out and package it with the Left 4 Dead games (Y'know, because they're almost the exact same game) and the updated CS:S.

And I have not tried the beta because I didn't get in fast enough, but I like the idea, because I'm of course a die-hard [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Film/DieHard?from=Main.DieHard] TF2 fan.
