Country exclusive games.

This is becoming a real problem. Games being released at different times worldwide, Japan get a tonne of games to themselves (Mother 3, Kingdom Hearts Final Mixes to name a few). I live in England and recently a friend of mine tried to get a hold of the first 3 Spyro games for PSone via Playstation Network only to find that they're available in North America and Japan but not here in Europe. It's utterly ridiculous. I'm thinking us as gamers should argue against this. We need to get together and tell these game devs to stop being touchy about what they release where, I mean come on. The more places they release it to the more it'll sell right? It's pointless and absurd. So come on people, for 2010 let's sort this out together. And get games released worldwide on the same day from now on.

I just want to ask - why? Console exclusives i can understand (it's about money, right?), and maybe they don't have resources to localize Japanese games for Western market or vice versa, but...

There is nothing - absolutely nothing - that can excuse them. Same goes for delayed release dates if the game was supposed to be released in the entire world to begin with.

I sympathize and even applaud your efforts, but getting gamers to unite for anything is as futile as trying to turn back the tides.

That does suck, but maybe because I'm American, I feel that the worst part is when we get everyone else's sloppy seconds.

Indigo Prophecy had to be censored. The NES ports of the Metal Gear games were bent over and raped. Everything else is pretty much "whitewashed" (I mean painting, not race).

Well, I am rather miffed about the fact that I can't get some games I want...
Infact, I know of no stores in England that sell Visual Novels. How the hell am I supposed to get Higurashi no Naku Koro ni? D:<
Same goes for other games...

They have a lot power over publishers and for a variety of reasons they come up with all the bullshit release dates and country availability.

Gaah yeah, this pisses me off so much. I still don't know why Japan decided that America was more capable of playing Demon's Souls than us Europeans.

I still think AvP should come out in Europe a month before the rest of the world. That'll highlight the issue...

If a game from outside Europe is released late in Europe, I can understand.

If a game from outside Europe isn't release in Europe, I can understand.

However, the only thing that boggles my mind is when European game companies release games earlier outside of Europe. It fails to make any sense whatsoever.
