Just to sum up, Cowboy Bebop is what anime can be, not some watered down pokemon clone slapped on to childrens television that is a million episodes long, but 26 utterly sublime episodes that, are utterly well written with a plot and ending that could not be any other way. At the risk of being pretentious, I believe Bebop to be one of those defining pieces of our generation, that will stand the test of time, and will always seem stunning and unique when watched for the first time.

Cheers for reading. Even though I still don't think I managed to quite express what I wanted to =p
Okay now where can i watch it ?
Youtube. The whole of it is up there, and shows no signs of being removed.
I found another site that does all subbed and dubbed

Assuming your avatar is accurate and you are a liker of Trigun, then you would definately enjoy bebop.

I am clearly very biased, but there just seems to be nothing wrong with Cowboy Bebop, no matter how you view it the quality and effort gone into it is undeniable.

I suppose its like marmite, you either love it for what it is, or you hate it because of the fact that its anime.
Some people have different opinions on the anime. Some like it and some hate it. Like Neon Genesis Evangelin. Some liked it, some hated it. It is all differences of opinion. I myself like Cowboy Bebop. The movie was excellent as well. It felt like a real viable source of plot movie. Not some movie that is made and has no real plot in the series.

I must point out that the West has no understanding of the Dragon Ball series. In Japan the Dragon Ball cartoons are a satire of anime, which is why they are so silly. Something was lost in the translation I guess.
Really? So DragonBall is a satire of anime, it makes so much more sense now! I'm guessing they dropped this when they started DragonBall Z, otherwise the whole 'namek' story arc qualifies as imitative fallacy.

So DragonBall is to Japan what Perfect Hair Forever [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oEZsLHGbnY] is to... DragonBall.

And I myself don't even consider Cowboy Bebop to be anime.... it's transcendent on every level!

First off, nicely written review. I agree with everything in it, except for the characters. Well, one of them. Julia.
Never made much of an appearence until the very end, and when she died, I found it hard to feel sorry for her and Spike, considering their romance was only explained in two or three episodes.

Pretty good review. There is one thing you can say about the anime that matches up very well with the manga, almost every episode is it's own little side story. Cowboy Bebop is one of the perfect examples of an author putting character development over plot development. However, unlike so many others, Cowboy Bebop pulls it off well and each little tangent makes you grow more attached to the characters.

I don't watch as much anime as I read manga, but Cowboy Bebop beats the hell out of all of the other Japanese style animation/graphic novels I have watched/read ever. My list goes:
1. Cowboy Bebop
2. Full Metal Alchemist (manga; the anime was such a disappointment to me)
3. D. Grey Man (manga; haven't seen enough of the anime to judge it)
4. Avatar: The Last Airbender (the first American anime! I'm so proud...*sniff*...my country isn't totally worthless...)
5. Soul Eater (anime; going to read the manga after I get around to finishing off the anime)

It seems to me, that wherever I go Evangelion is hailed as the greatest anime ever. I haven't heard that much talk of it here and I'm curious why. I liked the original series (if you can get past the protagonist's boo hoo my daddy doesn't wuv me whining) and it obviously had its flaws, but it seems to have defined what anime is today. To quote Yahtzee, the sheer head-crushing depth is reason enough. I thought there was some amazing philosophy packed into that little cartoon, and no, it isn't the best anime ever, but it seems like Eva would be more of a Godfather because it was so incredible for its time.
I can't see Eva being considered the greatest anime of all time, or even the godfather of anime...there is a reason for that. The Godfather stands as a true cinema masterpiece that introduced some of the best things about the medium that we have come to know. Eva, on the other hand, is a culmination of every anime cliche in the book. The weak emotional lead character with family issues, the strong woman who hides her feelings for the main character through a tough shell of violence, and of course mechs. Anime's biggest cliche(there are many more cliches in Eva, but it's been a while since I've watched it). It's not necessarily bad, but their are far better animes to be chosen as the "Godfather of anime", Cowboy Bebop being one of them.

Where's Death Note and Naruto ?
please kindly go lie in the middle of some large highway intersection. While both DN and Naruto have been seemingly well recieved, Death Note is not in the same section as the rest of these, whereas it has next to no real action (psychological thrills don't count) plus it's kinda gothy; and Naruto is just to childish (I'll restrain from calling it a kids show because, as I recall, there were naked chicks in all of the first three or so episodes)

Cowboy Bebop is definitely one of the better animes I've seen in what little bait the guys at [adult swim] will throw out on saturdays. In fact, I'm certain it's the only anime they're actually proud of. In it's genre (dark action) it is undoubtably one of the best out there, and it's age is simply a sign of its longevity. The fights are good, the story's great, Ed and Ein really liven things up. From the perspective of a musician, I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a better fusion of animation and music in a functioning story arc.

Although I'd love to just rant on about how amazing it is, I don't want to look like a mindless anime loser, so I'll throw in some critisism. While the story is pretty nice, it can sometimes be seen as overly confusing or obscure. Spike seems to know alot about martial arts, which is hard to believe since he supposedly joined a gang pretty early on. Ed and Ein are both two awesome comic relief geniuses, but both seem to come from being support characters in one episode, to major assets in the next. Ed herself is the biggest enigma on the whole sieries, SHE (big suprise #1) was an orphan for most of her life, just wandering around and with little to no schooling managed to become the best prodigy hacker in the galaxy. Faye isn't so sensical either; hailing from the 21st century as a school-girl put on ice, she manages to out-gun and out-fly countless trained goons time after time. To spend such a short time in the future (mostly in the casinos) and become a flight ace and expert marksman and bullet dodger is insanely unheard of. Jet... well, Jet seems to be the only normal one of the group; his backstory makes sense and there's almost nothing extrordinary about him.

All that being said i DO still really like the show.

1. Now and Then, Here and There
2. Cowboy Bebop
3. Samurai Champloo
4. FLCL
5. Afro Samurai

If the live is action is bad, it will do nothing but hype and already brilliant series. Do you know if they are havign any of the original creators working on such a thing?
