I hate it, course its been fuckin on for 10 years on adult swim and lots of people put it as their favorite so maybe thats why I hate it.
I'm not sure I follow you.
Something is popular, so therefore at least 1 person is required to have disdain for it for that sole reason.

Not an AVIDOMG fan, but I have the DVDs and I do really like it. Not a fan of episodic format shows, but when it drifts back to the "main plot" MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN does it get good. The characters are layered and very likable, each with their own flaws, history, and quirks. The atmosphere is great and their use of music is unmatched. Just one damn good anime if I say so myself.

I watched the series thrice when Locomotion still existed (an obscure argentine channel that aired lots of well dubbed anime... I miss that channel). I also watched the movie twice when it was aired in Cartoon Network late night (I miss Toonami).

Seriously, I just couldn't get enough of the damn series, I didn't mind if it was repeated over and over again, I still watched it and I still found some subtle stuff I didn't noticed the first time. It's that good. Also, that intro music always put a smile in my face whenever I listen to it :)

Is there a tv trope that describes linking tv tropes? Besides the obvious. [tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife] :D

Ah... Cowboy Bebop. Those were the days... A true masterpiece, indeed. Not much else to say.

Slightly off-topic here, but Shinichiro Watanabe and Yoko Kanno are once again teaming up for a new series slated for the this years' spring season, called Sakamichi no Apollon. [http://myanimelist.net/anime/12531/Sakamichi_no_Apollon/characters]... A drama.
Youtube, awaaaaay!

Not sure how I feel about the whole drama thing, but it certain has the same feel as Bebop and Champloo.

I'm not going to say that Cowboy Bebop isn't good, but I don't think it's AS good as the number people who really like it would seem to suggest.

As for transcending genres, it's noir in space with a dash of Hong Kong action flick.

Ah. Silly me, I was hoping he'd have an actual reason, but on a re-read, that is pretty clearly what he's saying.

Did you tear up at "Bang..."?

Not that I did or anything... I never said that... You shut your mouth...
Since Watanabe isn't sure himself, I've drawn my own ideas, especially after watching the movie.
In the film, after Vincent shoots Spike and throws him out of the train, Laughing Bull saves him, and Jet stands over Spike saying that "he got him." It doesn't specify who Spike got, so it could refer to either Vincent or Vicious. And since Vincent was killed later in the film, that either chalks up the scene to be a hallucination or from later in the series.

Another thing to consider is that only one star fell from the sky at the end of the series. Yet Vicious was definitely dead, while Spike is ambiguous. If only one star fell, then only one person died. Or, Vicious' star fell, and then Spike's would fall later after bleeding out.

Either way, major mind screw with no hard evidence. But that's kind of the point isn't it?
