It's just too damn tempting, though they did stiff me on 2 of my Fable 3 preorder bonuses, so I might not preorder from them again, especially not when other retailers like Best Buy and Walmart and even Amazon are also offering preorder bonuses now.

In my experience, used games cost more at Gamestop, but they off better trade-in values, especially as it concerns the PSP. However, I'm sure it varies greatly from store to store.

I've been buying my games at an exchange shop, which means I can return instead of reselling. I get my cash back, minus a small restocking fee.

Pay $40 for a brand new game, return it and get back $34. Six bucks for a brand new game. Sweet.

...Okay really, Gamestop makes most of their money off of used games, and they don't have to give anyone else a cut of a resale. Think of it like being sued. The plaintiff will look for as many reasons as possible to inflate the damages the defendent has to pay. Like piracy, opening the game, using the game, seeing the games content, physically damaging the precious plastic wrap, having dust coming into contact with the disc, getting skin oil on the case, ..you get the idea. All of that lowers and lowers the price to nothing. However when they sell the game, they've cleaned it up, added more plastic wrap and they're confident that it's just like new! So they charge tons of money for it (2-10 dollars off brand new) and they profit.

It makes them assholes, but it doesn't make the morally bankrupt satanists.

I stopped watching RazorFist after that episode. I can't stand him anymore.

I could tell from his statements he worked in a store in Phoenix which had a poor manager. My store is in Sugar Land near Houston, and I've never heard of half the things he mentioned, even from my coworkers who have been with the company for five years like RazorFist's editor has.

What really ticked me off was he was highlighting games that are known to be low value since they have been on the market for longer than two years, and making claims that the company was nothing but sex crazed managers and thieves.

So, yeah, RazorFist has officially become a troll with the creation of that video. I wouldn't listen to him.

How can you sell your games!?!?! I can never get rid of mine...but I know how stores tend to "rip you off" when you sell their games back. BUt they're a buisness, they won't give you more money otherwise they lose money. Even if they gave you the sam amount, it'd be like borrowing and they'd make no money.

I'm right there with you. The only time I ever sold a game involved the acquisition of a bundle of NES games, some of which I didn't want because they were either duplicates of games I already had, or crappy NES era sports games that I couldn't have cared less about. There was one game in that pile that didn't fall under those two categories, but I sold anyway, and I still regret it. And for the record, I traded them at a local collector's shop; this was only about five years ago, so it's not like Gamestop would have accepted them in the first place.

I would, however, take issue with the idea that they couldn't possibly pay more than they do. I still have flashbacks to the time they tried to pay me $0.50 for a gameboy game that I know they would have turned around and sold for $5-$10. Or was that an EB games? It's obviously been a while, but the practice hasn't changed that much. The trade in rates are a joke, and I'm sure they could raise them while still being profitable. But then, this being a business, they don't have any obligation to do so if people are actually stupid enough to accept the crappy trade in value.

In the UK, Gamestation lets us buy a game, and within ten days of buying it, take it back and get a full refund. Me and my mates used to take advantage of that system so bad. When taking some games back I swear to god I could see the cashiers eye twitching after the 4th visit back within 2 weeks. Haha, good times.

I'm done shopping and trading at Gamestop. If you live in a big enough city, chances are you have a classic game store nearby - trade your stuff in there. They're generally smaller businesses, give better prices, have better service, and you can totally geek out and get yourself a Dreamcast or Neo Geo or something. I love those stores.

Otherwise you shouldn't be surprised that they're trying to rip you off. They're a pawn shop. They pay their employees minimum wage, try and sell you unnecessary add-ons (no thanks I don't need the disc clear coat protection warrranty), and trick you into thinking that if you don't reserve a game with them then you won't get it. Oh and if the employees DON'T harass you about that stuff, they get fired.

You could always just list your games on craigslist, too.
