If only they'd made the .44 Magnum a top-break. I'd use it exclusively if they did.
I guess you didn't get the Blackhawk [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Blackhawk] then? (if you did, then you're very picky when it comes to weapons).
Oh, I got the Blackhawk. But then I found the Gauss Rifle...

I like to use the wrench on Bioshock, combined with bees and electicity. Takes all of the danger out of big daddys when one hit of a wrench does 10 times that of a shotgun.

In Saints Row 2 I find myself using the handgun even when I have a flaming assault rifle and RPG in my inventory. Why? Because its what I'm familiar with. I can take a gangster down in two hits to the head on hardcore and I do it like its second nature. Pretty soon all enemies are floored and I've taken less damage than I would've done using a powerful bullet hose I have less experience with.

In streets of rage 2 I often throw away my weapons and just use my fists. Not because I'm making life hard for myself, but because I sometimes find it genuinely easier to just use a punch combo. Exceptions being when I'm fighting a boss and your basic attack becomes worse than useless.

I find myself using the basic pistol in Fallout 3 simply because I'm a bit of a hoarder and will only use my larger guns if truly desperate. Its not unusual for me to run out of pistol ammo and still have over a hundred rounds left for weapons like the hunting or assault rifles.

In Ratchet and Clank 3, I was using the weapon that you get as the 4th weapon in the game while there were much stronger weapons around. Like in SR2, I was simply more familiar with the weapon, which didn't require aiming and was essentially a bullet hose.

The brick in Timesplitters 2. I had great fun smashing windows in the Street map, no matter how many times I died.

Melee weapons, any game, especially in online shooters.

It's just so satisfying to sneak up on someone/something and whack them silly, or just rush up to them and smack them in the face. (Yes, I die alot :3)

Wow...talk about an impressive feat of necromancy.

Well, um...I continued to use silver arrows in Oblivion loooong after they had been outclassed because I liked the quiver appearance so much.

I like Metro 2033's generally underpowered 'Bastard' gun and the pnemo guns, which either suck or rule depending on your situation.

I recently got the Fallout 3 GOTY (on pc for only 35 bucks!) and am loving it, I have an unhealthy obsession with the bolt-action hunting rifle and the supressed 10mil.

I loved the magnums on halo 2, mainly because they were the only guns in the whole damn series that didnt so much have that annoying 'firecap' (pause between shots).
Halo 2's submachine guns I loved, just 'cos that 'burrrrrttt' sound is so sweet.

In STALKER Call of Pripyat i used the starting AKS 74U for a good two thirds of the game, upgrading it as I went turning it into the ultimate death machine, and on Borderlands early on I found this 2 shot revolver that did ALOT of damage and fired electric rounds, which was underpowered a few levels later, but I still used it anyway 'cos it was so darn cool!

I play the original Call of Duty on pc occasionally and am crazy for unscoped bolt actions and the M1 Carbine.

Oh yeah and the knife you get in Fallout after anchorage, with the spikes in the handle, I just love clearing entire towns using that and the stealth suit.
