Not really a glitch but unintentional sandbox-gaming at it's finest. I was playing Harry Potter Order of the Pheonix for the 360. If you haven't played the game, the entire thing consists of wandering around Hogwarts straightening the carpet and performing meaningless tasks for people who dream of one day becoming pants-on-head retarded.

Anyway, I was getting irritated with the total lack of plot movement and eventually I found myself outside on Hogwarts grounds in the middle of a kind of stone hendge looking-thing. If there's one thing this game teaches you, if you can target it your supposed to do something to it. Well, I found these two big boulder things that I could target.

Eventually I get the idea that maybe I'm supposed to move them. A quick Wingardium Leviosa later and I have a huge floating rock at my disposal. So, I did what any healthy gamer would have. Put it as far away from me as possible and then shot it toward myself at break neck speeds. It hit Hermione and she went flying.

Long story short, I blocked the entrance inside and spent the next twenty minutes beating the stupid out of NPC's with a flying boulder. Ah, good times.

OK I have a couple

first off while playing Saints Row I have seen cars fly out of the sky, floating heads. Once I was playing and about to finish this level when a semi lands out of the sky and kills me.

On my copy of Oblivion the city of Bravil fell down about fifty feet lower then everything else, after much time I found that if I rode my horse down I could go to the town.

Once on Counter Strike I was strangely immune to all shots people thought I was hacking because I couldn't die.

There are more but I cant think of any right now

Driver: going straight through the border and racing out in a bleak gray void. (Driver 1 is still an awesome game btw, if you haven't played it, try it, the opening tutorial level may be a drag but for the rest its top notch stuff.)

HL2, Episode 1: Getting stuck in the car at the beginning of the game, thrice. It's an infamous bug and you can see it coming because Alyx's pathing goes absolutely haywire beforehand.

And then there's SC3 of course, walking around upside down due to wall glitching.

On Halo 2, near the end of the first Arbiter mission where you get the lift up to destroy the pylons, playing co-op my friend set the lift going up without me on it, I jumped to try and make it, made it, but then the lift went up off without us and both of us stuck in mid air!

In Armored Core 1 or 2, there's a mission where you must protect this communications tower from ground mechs and then fleets of gunner ships and a final boss of a bomber.

Turns out if you boost up to the top of the tower you could hop onto the bomber as it flies at the tower and point down and shoot it up till it dies and the mission finishes before you hit ground equalling no damage at all :)

I think one time playing Unreal Tournament '04 I was in a map with low gravity and I jumped up using the jump boots...I went waaay up..and stayed there XD I then started to rain missiles down upon my foes!

Possibly when you do COD4 on old school, i didnt find this glitch but it is great, there is a certain map where you can basically walk around the whole map from the air by walking along lots of different invisible walls and pathways.

Also is the devils swing on GTAIV this is pure class on multiplayer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DD7f3MROMA&feature=related

Oohh.. mine's that in garry's mod, when I turned on a light, the texture of the light would be a face when it was pointed at some walls, and normal at others.. very freaky to suddenly see a giant face with no eyes on the wall.

Getting out of the map on the covenant mission in halo3. I did find this out with some friends a while ago but I know other people have found it. There's this tower we managed to get onto by swinging the gravity hammer behind someone else as they jumped. If you climb up the tower then you can walk onto the mountains outside of the map and if you continue to walk along the mountains then you get to the shield (which you're trying to take down in the mission.) When you look down at the shield, you get the craziest stromotion. So if you throw a grenade into it, you can see every frame of the grenade throw at once. Like a really long exposure on a camera. In addition to this, if you walk through the shield then you come out in a part later on in the map but there's no enemies or anything else there. We were only trying to find the skulls when we stumbled across that and got more than we bargained for.

HALO 1 GUIDE TO MAKING A MONKEY

1) get your Halo brand human Flood
2) equip an accurate weapon (sniper rifle will cause too much damage, dont use sniper rifle)
3) blow its arms off
4) enjoy, now you have a monkey that thinks its in combat but has no arms so it will just follow you around, you can make as many as you want.

*note* dont try to blow off head aswell, you will just end up killing it*

Start a new game in GTA:SA, and head to the building that later becomes Big Smoke's Crack Palace.

That wall you smash down? Yeah, you clip right through it. Pity they took out everything on the other side.

Wheeeeeeeeeeee

I was playing metal gear solid 1 on the ps1 (back in 1999). At the end of the first cd right before fighting sniper wolf again, my game freezes. All of a sudden my game starts from the beginning with solid snake naked - censored soldier effect. With bandana and all weapons/items. My save file corrupted always starting the same way.

Another GTA: San Andreas one: I once turned on the flying car cheat while being chased by the police in order to both escape and defy all laws of physics and engineering for shits and giggles, but crashed into a farmhouse before I'd managed to lift off. The "cars float away when hit" cheat was also on for some reason, and so a tractor I'd nudged upon smashing into the house it was parked next to began to slowly float upwards. Before it rose too high for me to do so, I got out of the car and jumped onto the tractor.

Result: Flying tractor, despite the fact that the flying car cheat is not meant to work on tractors.

And so I escaped the long arm of the law and flew off into the sky on a piece of farm equipment.

However, since tractors were never intended to fly under any circumstances in the game, I found that flying tractors weren't subject to the same limitations as anything that's supposed to be able to fly- there usually seems to be a limit to how far up most things can go, which the tractor proceeded to thoroughly violate. Eventually I decided to suicidally dive off the thing, only to find I'd gone so far beyond the usual limit that I fell through the clouds four times before I saw any land and took about a minute and a half to hit the ground.

I survived, by the way.

I broke my character so bad in Morrowind that I had that scroll of massive leap from the beginning when you see the screaming guy fall out of the sky and hit the ground... that I was able to cast that spell to jump OVER a mountain and land on the other side... and I lived.

I was like AWESOME!!!!!

I don't know about crazy, but I have one thats funny. While playing Silent Hill 4, I killed a bat...thing and it landed on a fence and died. The blood flowed from its body like it normally would, but it was all floating in midair.

On oblivion i was doing one of the fighters guild missions, and i was riding my horse to the objective when i was attacked by a wolf or something. I get off my horse draw my sword and in the fight i accidentally (and it was an accident) hit my horse with my sword, the game then lagged up and i was kicked out of the mages guild, fighters guild, and dark brotherhood and from that moment on under the character statistics page in the menu it says i owned 2billion horses (i can't remember the exact number but it was a load of random numbers approx 2billion).

So, am i the only one to have that one?

Also i feel i should remark upon the quantity of oblivion related crazy glitches, strange huh?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TflsRHIThBw and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pqUqiicv-Y.

I apologize for the quality of the FEAR one, I was taking a video of the screen; this was before I discovered the wonders of fraps lol.

For those too lazy to click: In oblivion (namely The Best Defense shop), bits of armor were inexplicably stretched several feet. When struck, they shoot like rubber bands.

The second are proximity mines in FEAR. Upon throwing two against a pillar, the second one begins to float, and doesn't stop until it has hit the ceiling and stuck to it. Also in FEAR, enemies would spawn UNDER the map I was on. They could (and would) shoot and kill me, but as I couldn't see them I had no way of fighting back.

Fell through the ground in Gothic, outside the Old Camp. Rather than dying, I fell right through the sky and landed where I'd started.

Speaking of which, in Gothic (only the first one though), if you side-step while falling it'll stop your vertical motion as well as the horizontal. End result? Fall as far as you like then side-step near the bottom to escape unharmed. Really makes getting down from the demon-infested tower easier...

Oh yeah, in any Quake-engine-derived game (like Half-Life), if you're on a sloped corner you get the forward momentum from both sides, often meaning you can climb a slope that should be too steep. But I suppose looking for glitches in the Quake engine is like looking for straws in a haystack...

Hehe. Another TF2 glitch I've noticed - and bare with me here, I'm a noob at TF2 - is being barbequed through the fences before the round has started. Picture me, taunting my enemies, when suddenly a flame goes up my rectum. So very confused, and violated I slowly cry in a corner, as uber charged Pyros/Heavies come to finish me off. I mean kill...

Anyway, how is this possible? Am I that retarded I didn't know Pyro's possessed the Flame-That-Goes-Through-Walls superweapon, that fails me constantly. I'm off to play Tetris, now there's a game that doesn't glitch you to death.
There is a gap around the edge of teh fence which is blocked by a non solid piece of terrain i shoot through it all the time on the PS3

Also i have found a glitch in GTA 4 when you drive into and swings in the game it glitchs and catatpults your car across the map.

Oh, wait, craziest *glitch*? Nevermind.
