Condemned: Bloodshot
I thought the two scariest bits were with the doll factory boss (and a very gruesome way of killing it) and the bear. Ohhhhh that bear. I thought it was gonna come back after I blew it up. I was expecting it for the rest of the GAME.

MINECRAFT. Holy shit. Wander outside at night, and because you're so easy to kill, you will jump at every noise you hear.

And the STALKER trilogy as well. Like Minecraft, gets intense at night.

Barbie's horse adventures

nah i kid, most scared ive ever been in a non horror game. Fallout NV. Vault 34? (the one which is ghoul infested) i went there with the intetion of getting the cool guns at like level 8. (taking on those ghouls with less health than a soggy bag was scary as fuck. that and it was dark, ghouls are scary, they make scary noises and death was around every corner.

i killed about 10, then ran away, with no ammo for any guns nor any stimpacks

The ghost in Hitman.
Oh, God. I remember that, I actually jumped because I wasn't expecting it.

The morgue in Batman: Arkham Asylum when you're suffering from Crane's toxin creeped me the hell out. When you walk in and all the voices start going "you shouldn't be in here" "get out now!" I quickly obeyed and ran back out the door. Then when you open the last body bag and Scarecrow jumps out, I crapped myself.

Minecraft, at night and mining for some resources.

*mine, mine, mine*
Me: Alright, that's enough.
*turns around*
Surprise visitor: Hey, Sssssssteve. *boom*

Seriously. I've jumped many times due to surprise attacks.

Sounds improbable, but Endless Ocean. Specifically, the Abyss level. It's dark and oppressive.

Even worse is the sequel where you CAN get attacked by creatures.

I think The Darkness had some fucking scary parts, but while it wasn't a horror game, it's...well...called The Darkness.

Max Payne freaked the FUCK out of me. I don't need to refer to which part if you've played it. Ok, hint: dream sequence.
Wasn't it more a tripping balls sequence? Pretty sure he was drugged up at that point.

Ecco the Dolphin. They were all pretty scary in parts, the music was incredibly atmospheric in the Mega Drive versions, and there's something about submerged caverns that I find particularly scary... deep under water, the pressure builds, no air, no way out... and then there were some levels that were played largely in darkness too. Those ones freaked me out.
I agree 100%. The Alien queen at the end of it was very scary too.

I first played Half Life 2's demo four years back, and it was set in the Ravenholm level.

Don't ever play No One Lives Forever.

Imagine diving in a shark filled wreck. And the sharks one-shot you if you're close...leaving you screaming as they tear you apart.

Fallout: New Vegas definately had some creepy areas especially if you start going through the vaults and reading the termials. Vault 22 in particular is very creepy.
Agreed - especially Dead Money. Damn Ghost People. Vault 112 in Fallout: 3 was pretty damn creepy too, with all the psychos running around and hallucinating all the time.
