One time, i was asleep, and when i woke up, my lava lamp randomly turned on and there was a red glare in the room
After about 10 seconds, a shadow shaped like a man stepped into my room, and he stood in the center of my room for maybe two minutes, and then all of a sudden, he got skinnier and skinnier until he fell to his knees and then disappeared completely
I know it sounds like bull, but it was really scary

One time my friend and I were walking home from a Walgreens that was close by. There was a tree that hangs over the sidewalk next to his house that we had to walk under to get to his front door. A few seconds after we walk under the tree, the branch that was hanging out above the sidewalk breaks and falls right in the middle of the sidewalk. This was a huge branch and could have easily crushed the both of us. Its creepy because if we had been delayed for some reason by like 10 seconds we could have been killed or at least seriously injured.

Once I had a dream I was falling, and when I "hit" the ground, I woke up and it felt as if I had just fallen onto my bed.

When I was 5-8, I called my mom whenever I had to go to the bathroom. One time I was met with an inhuman snarl. It was quite the experience.

I was home alone this one time and I fell asleep.

When I woke up all the blinds were closed.
Maybe somebody came into the house, closed the blinds, and then left again whilst you were asleep. Like your mum or partner?
Doubt it seeing as they came back like an hour later from the neighboring town.

All the time I'll be talking to friends and I'll know for a FACT that I've heard the exact same conversation before, de ja vu. It's not really creepy, just annoying that I can't explain it or do anything about it. Just continue like nothing happened...

Also, I'll be sitting thinking to myself "remember that one episode of ______" and the exact episode will be on sometime later. It's happened countless times.

I can think of one specific time not too long ago I was thinking about the episode of Futurama where Fry's old girlfriend comes to the future. Later that day, I see Futurama's on, I hit the info button.

Goosebumps.
do you ever take advantage of this and just finish your friends sentences randomly? I would...
Haha no I'm not saying I have some amazing power, it's simply an extreme feeling of de ja vu. It usually kicks in after the conversation is over like "wait now I've heard this all before somewhere". One time when I was little I said that out loud and everyone was like "...what?"

Don't take me seriously anyway, it's probably all in my head *wink*.

I have those dreams all the time and they suck. It's always the same one too. I'm just walking across the street but when I get to the sidewalk I trip on the curb and right when I'm about to hit the ground I flail and wake myself up. I even gave myself a calf cramp once because of that dream.

No...holy fuck, no... wtf... that figure... the way you descirbed it... this is not good.

Maybe I should provide more information. I have very realistic dreams where I will be standing in the desert, a white clocked man, with bright blue eyes says "this is whats left of the world" I ask why, but he does not respond. He tells me that I can stop it, but he does not know how. He believes we are the same man, but he is unsure. I believe him, I feel safe with him, but something is wrong. He says I will figure what I must do one day, untill then, he will leave me small signs, but always be on look, for he said he is always watching.

Bright blue eyes.. creepy.. very creepy.
Thou art the chosen one

Title really suggests it all.

My story, I was sleeping in bed, it was around 2AM, i could tell because there was a clock next to me, but i couldn't move, i was absolutely paralyzed. Everything seemed to have the volume turned up, every creak in the floor seemed to sound like a wrecking ball, and i remember my door opening and a shadowy figure looking at me. I just closed my eyes, and opened them again, and it was still there, i like to think i passed or maybe just fell back asleep, when i woke up my head was killing me. i still cannot explain what happened to this day.
My dear friend, that shit happens to me all the time.

I awoke in a complete sweat screaming as I threw a viciously terrifying beast off of me and leaped out of bed into the hallway, having this terrible feeling to never enter my room again, but this quickly passed with a couple Benadril and Advil. A few weeks later I woke up and saw a demented looking girl staring right at my face, alike you it didn't go away after the first blink, nor the second or the third. I eventually was able to turn on my bedside light and nothing was there. The latest one I have had was at my cousins house. This one still haunts me horribly.

We had made a makeshift bed out of large pillows, big comforters, blankets and the likes and turned out to be very comfy. I however awoke in what we believed to be the heater room on the floor. I got up only to be met by a rock wall and scraped all of my knuckles quite badly as I walked around to find the exit. I couldn't find it and began to panic when I hear the laughter of a little girl, I followed it (just like I'm not supposed to) and actually found the exit. I still had no idea where I was. I heard the laughter again and followed it, this went on for a very long time as I dodged around oddly placed furniture until I saw the makeshift bed. I tried to awaken my cousin but he did not budge. I fell asleep and awoke with bloody knuckles. Haha....sucks....

Also I'll occasionally awake to a voice whispering my name right in my ear it seems.

I don't blame you if you think this is bullshit. It sounds like a demented movie or book or something, but take my word. These are extremely terrifying and real to me.

Anyways. That's the weird shit that goes on in my life! Thanks for reading xD.

Thank you for making a topic like this. Interesting to see I'm not alone.

My story isn't really creepy as it was bewildering.
Once at camp I awoke in the middle of the night to find I was on a bunk on the opposite side of the room. I could feel something weird beneath my feet so I moved my sleeping bag and discovered that it was the occupants face, still asleep. Thinking this to be a dream I went back to sleep.
15 minutes later I woke up and I was still there. I still have no idea how I wound up over there. Some people probably managed to move my sleeping bag with me still in it without waking me or the kid they put it on top of.

Night terrors run in my family, and last night I had my first run in with 'em. It felt like waking up from a nightmare I don't remember. I was scared for my life, but I had no idea why. It was really horrible...

Went to sleep one evening and awoke in the middle of the night. A dark figure was moving around in my room. I attempted to scream but the figure quickly covered my mouth with a hand I could not feel or see in the quasi darkness. I lifted my head and pulled the chord above me and looked out into an empty room.

Some time back I read a fascinating passage by Richard Dawkins of all people. He was debating how things like divine visitations worked in a practical sense and he showed how the brain actually tweaks the information it receives from the sensory organs to quantize it into a time-coherent stream which isn't all over the place with strange aberrations such as random pitch variations in sound, or missing spots of vision from moving eyeballs appearing as prominent information in memories. It was really interesting because he explained a childhood terror of his which I don't doubt all of us experienced in some way; talking ghosts.

It was a windy night and the gusts blew around Dawkin's house and suddenly, from nowhere, he distinctly heard an old man talking softly, but bitterly, in a strange tongue. Words were almost audible and almost distinct, but not quite and he glimpsed snatches of familiar words amidst the torrent. He crept towards the source of the sounds to find out that the source was not some fanciful apparition, but just the wind blowing through a small gap, making the low wheezing sounds he'd mistaken for speech. Once he'd identified the true source the 'ghost' stopped talking and the wheezing wind became just that.

Dawkins explained how the wind's likeness to familiar words and the pitch of a familiar voice archetype caused his brain to start interpreting it as speech and to start trying to make sense of something which is essentially nonsensical. In this same passage (it may have been the God Delusion, can't remember clearly) he explained how data from the eyes can construct a virgin Mary in a similar way, but I'll not bore you with any more science.

I brought all this up, not to smash your horror-vibe, but because when I read this passage it reminded me of the one time I'd experienced a real live demon. I was perhaps six and I was staying in a house which had notoriously survived two world wars and several bombs. Its original occupants had died in the first world war and its second set of occupants died in the next. It had the only-partially mended bomb damage in its basement to prove it. It was a veritable breeding ground for all things unholy. One night I heard a string of sibilant hisses, spits and growls fly down the chimney into my bedroom. Terror struck me; the chimney had been boarded up for years. I looked out the window and, just beyond the rancorously whirling tree in my garden, a demon was dancing in the windows of an adjacent building. An office building that was almost entirely abandoned. I was sure as sure can be that the demon's erratic, capricious movements and spiteful snarls were directed at me. I ran and got my father and he found that the boards in the chimney had come loose and the sounds I heard were nothing more than the wind. He showed me, through his binoculars, what the demon looked like up close. It was a windows 95 screen saver, projected onto wall. Apparently the new tenants of the office were just setting up had someone had forgotten to turn off the PC when they went home that night. Suddenly the inexplicable was embarrassingly explicable.

Happens to me too. I also hear people yelling my name out when nobody is around or when they are not talking.

Events may be out of order, but what the hell, I'll chronicle my unexplainable.

Uhm... Fast forward 15 or so years, I was driving home with my little brother, and there's this really FUN S-curve into my neighborhood that NEVER has cops, is low traffic, and FUN to take at 50+ (It's a 30 zone). Well, this time there was enough traffic that I wasn't driving like a retard, it was late evening so the sun was setting. Over the field on the opposite side of the road, my brother and I both saw the same thing. It had a wingspan of at LEAST nine, ten feet, a long, narrow, flexible tail, and a triangular head on the end of a flexible neck. I damn near hit a tree staring at it. I looked away as it suddenly dove into the field which hadn't been mown for hay yet, so still had really tall grass, dodged the curb, got back to driving right, and it was gone. Haven't seen it since, but I saw a fucking dragon. It wasn't a bird, it wasn't a kite, it moved biologically, not like a kite. Had BAT wings, wasn't a BIRD.
Do you happen to live in New Jersey? This could explain it...

I hope you actually were just seeing things...

My grandma came to visit earlier this year. She was really mean to us, and made us all feel sick when she was around. A while after she leaves, I am outside and I see a small shadow that looked like an image burnt into my eyes darting into the house. It was a shade or red i have never seen before or since. Anyway, after that some really weird things began to happen. Later we smoke the house out (since our family originates from India, we still have some traditions). We do this at 3 in the evening or so. The next day my mom is calling my dad, but instead gets my cousin. Apparently at 4 in the evening (where most of my family lives is an hour ahead) my grandma had a bad cough. My cousin said that she never saw my grandma so sick before.
