I found the comic tasteless. And while I know people are going to get on me for being butthurt about whatever they have decided to infer I'm butthurt about, I'm not offended. I still think it was tasteless.
You have been successfully trolled by some webcomic authors. Take a bow.
Ummm...no I haven't.

Unless A. The definition of trolling has been greatly laxened and B. the author basically decided that being not funny was worth "trolling" me specifically, then no.

Although you've just unlocked the "apologist" achievement.
The people whining about the emblems are rediculous, this webcomic is the absolute perfect response. It's great, because it points out how rediculous it is to whine about the perfectly legitimate bans being given out by xbox live and treyarc.
If you want to play thier game you have to play by thier rules.

Hey, I remember that poem from my English GCSE! It's about oppression in an African country, but I can't remember which one.

... Wow. I didn't think some people are so humourless. Just... wow.

Good comic, CM. It's a shame some people aren't getting the actual point. Seriously, people thought the comic was deadly serious when it called Xbox Live "JACKBOOTED FASCISTS"?!

Being banned from CoD: BO should be considered an divine intervention. Go 'waste' your gaming time on some better titles, seriously.

Sounds similar to the Poem 'Not my Business'.
THAT'S the one I was thinking of. I'm not sure where all these Roman references are coming from, because the text on the comic is based 100% on Not My Business. If I was certain about the meaning of 'paraphrase' I might even say that that's what it is. Is it?

Martin Niemöller's poem, not the most obvious source of comedy, but it works.

The version inscribed on the U.S. Holocaust memorial museum goes:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak for me.
The one in the U.S Holocaust Memorial Museum was actually changed, Niemöller said Communist instead of Socialist.
Wikipedia said:
While Niemöller's published 1946 speeches mention Communists, the incurably ill, Jews or Jehovah's Witnesses (depending on which speech), and people in occupied countries, the 1955 text, a paraphrase by a German professor in an interview, lists Communists, Socialists, "the schools, the press, the Jews, and so on," and ends with "the Church". This likely refers to the thousands of Catholic priests and other ministers imprisoned at Dachau and other camps. However, as cited by Richard John Neuhaus in the November 2001 issue of First Things, when "asked in 1971 about the correct version of the quote, Niemöller said he was not quite sure when he had said the famous words but, if people insist upon citing them, he preferred a version that listed "the Communists", "the trade unionists", "the Jews", and "me".[citation needed]
At the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC, the quotation is on display, but is altered so that there is no mention of communists, even though communists have been mentioned in every version of the quote given. The Holocaust Museum website, however, gives a thorough discussion of the history of the quotation.

This is why I love PC gaming. My Team Fortress 2 server of choice not only allows pornographic and/or offensive sprays, it actively encourages them. Basically, the only thing that they actually care about is a certain word starting with the letter N. Long as you avoid that word, you can spew just about any other form of insanity and be totally kosher.
For me, it's all about context.

Swearing is good in context, such as sarcastic teasing or when emphasizing something you feel strongly for. Even the N word works in certain contexts, just very few.

A server that allows blatant swearing for the hell of it isn't that great in my book, it's the environment that breeds douchebags.

Not My Business is a different poem, just with a similar pattern and topic. It's actually based of the poem First They Came by Martin Niemöller, about Nazi Germany.

Nice, very nice. Tongue-in-cheek done correctly. Although it looks like some people didn't catch that. Oh well, that's the risk you run when your humor gets subtle. People miss it, but its all the sweeter for those who catch it.

And I agree, this whole issue is pretty funny. Sure you can argue that people could use the swastika as a religous symbol, but come on. We all know that the people who put swasitkas and "666" and weed symbols in their names are doing it to be "edgy" or "cool" or whatever. Yeah, Xbox is being remade to be a more "family-friendly" system, but it isn't that bad to ban people using a symbol that essentially says they're fine with the systematic murder of over 6 million people on the basis of ethnicity.

So your favourite server is a server full of idiots who swear for the sake of it, trolls, and kids who think swearing and porn sprays are cool?
That is just the worst type of server. There's a reason most servers have rules and regulations. It's to keep order and prevent trolls and pricks.
There's a reason offensive sprays are called OFFENSIVE, no one wants to see them!

That was dumb and unfunny, but then again so are all webcomics.
exactly, we are not funny, but we still have the right to think we are.
sadly, threyarch feels that we should not have the right of self expresion if its at the cost of someones feelings...
I hate to say this, but they are the ones being childish...
they cant take a fucking joke!
[my theory]
(treyarch`s ceo is a jew)
I wasn't talking to you, unless you are one of the people that works on Critical Miss. As it wasn't funny, entertaining, or insightful.

denying the very freedom of expression (emotion/feelings in a non-violent way) is a sign that our culture as a species is still underdeveloped, still regarded as a puny animal.

I personally have no problem with swastika avatars.
Me neither but then they should've made a few official "Axis" emblems for said teams. So no misunderstandings or abuse couldve accurred. Instead of letting douchebags have the complete freedom to be douchebags.

[fuck you moderator]
You'd probably laugh at the burnt remains of the Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust. Either that or you don't realize theres a difference between making a joke and joking about the deaths of several million people. Because that's what I'm getting from your posts.

Although being an asshole didn't really help...

I'm shocked that I'm shocked that people are shocked about shocking avatars/emblems, I thought I would have learnt by now.
