Cross-bows and CoD...do they mix?

CoD is supposed to be an "edgy" FPS loaded with action...however in black ops its been shown several times that there are cross-bows. Cross bows are not modern fast or as lethal as a gun. so my question is will it fit in? also if they are included in MP will it just be a novelty that no one will use (similar to flamethrowers in CoD:WaW)?

Assuming Black Ops actually is an even remotely stealth-oriented game, it could work. Crossbows are practically silent. In a high-action, war zone scenario? Fuck no, you get one shot, and then by the time you reload you've got 50 bullets in you.

Yes. Because when you ask a marine, or seal, or whoever in the military, what their preferred weapon is for any situation, their answer will always be "I want a crossbow with explosive headed bolts."

Crossbows are used by real stealth operatives and explosive tipped arrows and bolts have been featured in a lot of media, Rambo having his grenade arrows for instance.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Most modern guns used to day were invented for ,or populorized by, the vietnam war. the m16 being the prime example.

It can be the new bolt-action rifle like from CoD5; I loved those, and they never felt overpowered.
In a level like the snowy stealth based ones from MW2, the crossbow would go down beautifully.

Of course crossbows shouldn't be in CoD. That ridiculous! Who would use a crossbow in a modern war zone? It's like using a throwing knife or some kind of shield. What is this the Middle Ages?
