I had a bit of fun earlier only lvl 3 but so far minimal lag and runs great on my 9800GTX only Gamer settings but still looks great.

I find the movement a little slow but otherwise pretty fun

My thoughts. It's shit. Why? Because I can't login. Gives me a stupid "invalid name" error when clearly it's not invalid. I guess it's a minority of people with this issue but still, I'm not the only one.

Eh, it's OK. I thought the first Crysis was mediocre, and I feel this one has improved a bit, but I'm still not impressed. Yea, it looks nice, but if the gameplay isn't quite there, it still falls short for me, and this is the case with Crysis 2.

It's downloading now, I can't wait! I just hope my PC doesn't turn into a puddle of melted plastic.

At first I was like COD with super powers bleeeh.

Then I was like COD WITH SUPER POWERZZZ!!

Yeah, I was a nay sayer, and I love it. All the powers are still there, nothing was removed except Prone and Melee fist. You still can punch with a pistol out.

Also I just figured out you can use super strength while firing if you hold down the sprint button. I about pissed myself in delight when I did.

Also I was very impressed with the cloak kills, snapping or stabbing a dude in the neck from behind made me feel like predator.

For all those that are wondering. Perfect FPS at gamer settings.

2.3ghz dual core.
2GB ram
8800GT.

Faster than Crysis 1, and looks better.

After my inital yay, I may not bother downloading it. After the readin up it looks like it is only supports DX9. There are rumours that it may launch like that as well, with maybe DX10 / 11 coming later in patches. Some much for the phrase 'will it play Crysis?...'

I know this pushing the graphics evelope is not the only thing that make a good, but this is Crytek and Crysis for peat sake. Nice to see all that dosh Nvidia put in to 'help' development has not gone to waste...

Played last night after 7 or 8 hours of trying intermittently to log on. Finally, it helped to use a email not previously associated with a 'mycrysis' account. I have a i7 950, ati 5850 and found the 'gamer' graphics were too laggy to get in any good shots, so I lowered to 'hardcore'.

That being said I'm a multiplayer noob so I'm not sure if it's my sh*%ty aim, but the targeting seemed a little wonky compared to Crysis single player. I disabled auto aim to try to compare, but still felt myself overcompensating targets. Even in kill cams, people seemed to be veering left/right before locking in on a shot. I'd hate to think this was because the guns are optimized for the 'etch-a-sketch' analog stick controller crowd.

Also, no dx11?!??? C'mon Crytek! Crysis 1 had dx10 patched into it. Albeit HORRIBLY optimized. I had to revert to dx9 for the final boss fight in Crysis 1 because it crashed constantly! They throw all they have into a scene and forgo all sense of play-abliity. I was running near top-of-the-line card that couldn't run a 4 year old game in it higher settings on dx10?!?!? That says to me that the company does not optimize their levels. I dont care how many pretty flowing leaves are in a scene. I want at least 60 fps!!!

Compare this to Dice's frostbite engine: dx11 optimized and made for pc. Physics, beautiful levels and all the pretty Crytek boasts.

If Crytek cant figure out how to utilize dx11 on the upcoming patch(?) they are bound for consoles only.

Oh yeah, the demo was fun.....but we'll see if the campaign lives up to Crysis 1.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
well graphically it looks fantastic but its still not as fun as bc2, and the lobby to find games really sucks but thats what I expect with gamespy, really you should only put gamespy on your multi if you dont expect people to play it

I managed to create a new account (on an email address that the game's login had already said was being used...), only the validation link they sent me was actually one to reset my password.

And if I try to log in to the site or the game (USE. FUCKING. STEAM.) nothing happens.

Rumours from who? I very much doubt it. None of the demos are the latest builds of the game, as far as I'm aware. And DX10 was supported in Crysis from launch.

Runs and looks great on my 8800gs, q6600 quad, 4gb ram, even if the game said that it doesn't support my video card. Gameplay is solid, but i guess its not worth the effort trying to log in or searching for a server that wont shut down after 5 minutes of gameplay. There seems to be some problems with the servers right now, a bunch of players whining in the chat because the game wont start.
Ok, seriously, f*** this demo and f*** gamespy, if this is what i should expect from the final product then no thanks. Connecting to a server is a pain in the ass and when you finally do you get disconected after a few minutes.

Fairly sure it's hardcore-Advanced-Gamer, but theres so little difference it's fairly moot anyway.

Same goddamn problem! I tried for hours to change my name and password, but it turned out that the MyCrysis website is an absolute mess. No matter what I clicked on the page would always crash. Although one should expect this defective nonsense from a beta.

I was highly disappointed with the demo. The game is basically a direct console port to the PC with the opening screen saying "Press Start to Begin". Besides that, the OVERLY simplified graphics settings and Aim Assistance in the menu caused much raging. And then you get to the "servers", which are basically like a matchmaking lobby. That, and the games are incredibly short. Although, I did not play Crysis 1 MP, so I do not know if that is how its supposed to be. Oh, and it not being shipped with DX10/11 made me cancel my pre-order.

The original had a demo with DX 10. The first game had DX10 from early in the devolpment. I find it very worrying that they only seem to be looking at DX 10/ 11 for builds after the demo. That's why I and others say console port. Bet there won't even be much in the way off tessellation and other DX11 goodies.

Again. Graphics do not make a good game on their own. And Crysis 2 may well be a good game. But Crytek and Crysis have just lost their pushing the PC graphics envelope reputation... The phrase 'sell outs' comes to mind.

Looks like the same thing has happened to the sequel here that happen to the Assasins Creed sqeuel, with it using a DX version less than the original.

No wonder Crytek were not desperate to do a PC demo. I here to sound of pre-orders being canceled. I will hold back to see what sort of game we actually end up with.

But at least the console crowd will be happy as the more this happens the less PC users can show examples for better graphics on the PC. Soon the will be no difference. Not due to consoles catching up, but due to PC development being hobbled.

Sometimes, I feel like the only one who watched those videos showing how they built the game.

Also, the first 360 demo was a pretty old build, and this demo (this is not an indication of the game) seems to be the same thing.

Yeah, I know. I am probably jumping the gun, and all maybe fine.....

I don't know about anyone else, but every game I join (that doesn't miraculously become full when the browser clearly said 10/12), simply doesn't start. Everyone just sits in the lobby, wondering why. The games I have been able to join have been fun, although I seem to only get servers with 300+ ping when I specifically filter for <50 ping.

Its a lot of fun.

I got a 360 controller from my friend today and I have been using it.

Without aim assist, I went (after a couple of matches getting used to the controls which I still screw up at timeS)

22 and 11
17 and 4

Say thats pretty good against M&K.
