Crysis 2 PC Demo

So I'm stuck looking at the very pretty creating account screen because apparently Crytek didn't realise a bajillion people wanted to log on to play the new demo. I'm just curious what people think of the demo, is it more polished then the XBOX beta? Is anyone actually able to play yet? I was planning to spend the whole night playing but that idea has been screwed up a bit.

It is also a bit annoying that the patient PC players that haven't downloaded the Beta have to wait even longer to play, all the while dirty pirates have finished the single player campaign. Having said that I'm kinda proud that so many people are doing the right thing and waiting to play, Crytek have supported the PC platform so I am glad the platform is returning the favour.

So yeah what does everyone think?

Well, as someone who has seen the leaked version I can say that the dirty pirates did not get the full experience.

The beta I have downloaded and am ready to start up when I finish class today.

The moment I saw 'press start to begin', Crytek died for me. This is literally a copy paste from the 360 demo. The demo is DX9 only, and the enthusiast settings are all locked. Also there is an option for AIM ASSIST. In a PC MULTIPLAYER GAME. WHAT.
I don't mind a bit of porting, but this is getting ridiculous.

are you serious? yeah the press start to begin annoyed me also. The DX9 thing is a real kick in the nuts... I can console myself (geddit) with the fact that the release date isn't too far off.

Is it just me or do any of you find the way that the menu's bobbing up and down and all over the place in response to your mouse movement, annoying and/or disorientating?

I have played about 4 minute?s worth of a match because when I can get in to one, where I'm not being told that a match with only '4' players in it, is full, I lose connection... Although that could be down to my firewall :\

Also, graphics options. You have three choices, which are basically low, medium or high. Wow. I am literally spoilt for choice! I thought that one of the strengths of the PC was that you could customise the graphics in order to gain better performance (especially on a lower end rig like mine). I'd like to have least seen an option to change AA and/or AF setting...

And the 'Press Start to Begin' thing ticked me off as well.

I'm pretty sure that once it's customizable I'll be able to run it on high... I mean 'hardcore'. It's only a bit sluggish, but if I kill the AA I should be ok. Which is funny, since I only have a 9800GT 1GB card. I gotta say, it looks pretty and runs smoothly for a game this new. Even on my pretty average rig.

TBH the game is kinda fun to play. It's kinda like CoD only with more jumping around like an idiot. That happens to be my thing.
