So many of you have either played Crysis 2 or know someone who has, what i don't get is the hate surrounding the PC version of the game, i have played crysis 1, i thought the single player was enjoyable, the multiplayer, meh maybe not as good.

I am currently playing it on the xbox, and it is brillian, Crytek promised the best graphics on console and they have delivered, I don't see how the PC version isn't as good, I've read its something about the suits powers being dumbed down, isn't that just a troll word for simplified, Crytek have made a great game for console and PC, and we should praise them for it.

Also not to be rude but, PC players are starting to sound like this.

Pretty much, this happened.

"YOU DIDN'T MAKE EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT, BAWWWWW".

Cry some more. I for one, will buy it and enjoy it, because i've not limited myself to PC games. Console games are fine in their own right and it being designed for consoles first hasn't hurt it.

They have made a good console game, granted. However, repeating myself from another thread, stuffing "Press start to begin", DX9 instead of Dx11 as promised, crappy FOV, only three graphics options, auto-aim and "adjust brightness on your TV" isn't how you make a PC-game.

Long story short, it's straight up port. I just wish the developers had enough balls to just tell us the truth that they don't care for PC-versions anymore. Both Infinty Ward and now Crytek insisted on that both Modern Warfare 2 and Crysis 2 were great PC-games while Crytek even go as long as saying PC was the lead-plattform. Lying to your former supporters and potential customers never helps your credability.

Not saying I won't buy it. I just have to wait untill they release the DX11 patch and drops below 5 $.

i liked it a lot, i think they are just being winy because Crytek actually created a good pc and console game that was not dumbed down.

Would you have bought it if Crytek said it was a port? Just curious if PC gamers would have bought a port.

Ow yeah, we sure as hell dont want to have something like personal taste because you said so...

Nevermind the idea that what works for consoles might not work on PC's, which is the general consensus after reading comments on fora like this one.

So Crysis became a console shooter and PC-gamers get screwed out of a better/more complex game than it's predecessor was. What else is new?

Depends on the definition. If you mean a port like Mass Effect or Bad Company 2, then yes. In Cryteks situation they outright say that PC is lead and then it is released as a porting disaster. It's better to play nice with your audience, either by doing a good port or just tell your fans to shut the fuck up because you don't care anymore. That way, we the people, don't get robbed of 60 ?, whine on /v/ for the next six months and start pirating every game because you realize that developers don't give a fuck about PC-version while they still have the stummock to lie straight to your face about the opposite.

Hell i played the demo and i thought it was great, and I didn't feel that the nano-suit was dumbed down, it was just more streamlined. Its much easier to switch out between abilities [in the first game it was almost impossible for me to jump really high up or get super speed as Koreans were shooting me in the ass everywhere] so simply using the space and shift keys is much more simple.

As i only play on the PC my self, not out of douchebag elitism but because im dirt cheap :p [although many console players seem to think PC gamers are the former these days admittedly], its kind of embarrassing to see fellow pc players bitching about the lack of DX11 when they should be focusing on the gameplay and story elements more. We say that Cysis 1 was more than a tech demo in one sentence, and then scoff if the sequel doesn't give us enhanced XXL deluxe lighting or something like that. The game already has the best graphics in any game ever, so why do we complain about it?

Either way ill still buy the game whatever fellow PC gamers say to me.

While I don't particularly care for the topic at hand, I just wanted to say "I see what you did there", OP.

PC players are "nerds" while console players are "fans"? Subtle. :p

Compared to Crysis 1, it's certainly noticeable Crysis 2 was also developed for consoles. I bought it anyway though, because I enjoyed the multiplayer demo. I went in with as few expectations as I could manage, and it seems to have worked out well. It's a decent game, in my book.

It's just too generic now. The nanosuit's ridiculous powers were what stood it apart a little.
Since they toned them don't it's....alright.

Edit - I should mention that this my assumption of what's wrong with it based off what I hear.
Honestly, I felt Crysis was fairly boring and didn't play much so I'd probably not even warrant picking up the samey sequel.

Eh. If it was similar to the first I doubt it'd be worth it for me to pick it up. I did like the jungle sections of Crysis, despite the inept behavior scripting and infinitely spawning enemies. But after the spaceship, the game just became too monotonous and full of bullshit deaths. But hey, I got the entire pack for $6.50 or so on Steam and it did deliver that value.

This PC nerd is still happy, the options are a little sparse but really half the people with the bigger rigs simply just clicked the button that changes all the options to Enthusiast/Very high, then used .cfg files for anything else back in the original crysis.

I don't get why Bethesda RPG's can get away with, yeah the base game is naff but community creations are a valid part of it and yet for crysis 2, a simple text file put into the install directory is an unreasonable expectation and yet most serious crysis players used .cfg files all the time some even replacing the Cvar groups to get 90% of the Dx10 effects into the Dx9 renderer

Haha, fair enough. Just thought it was a funny detail is all. xD

I do agree people are being pretty uppity about the game, though. But hey, people are entitled to their opinions and all!
