I'm still debating with myself if thats CGI or in-game graphics. I want to say its CGI, but since this is Crysis, one of the most graphically advanced games ever in the history of games, I'm not sure...

OT: Eh, hopefully they're fun to fight.

I remember going through the ship in 0g, dodging around fighting the little bastards. Man that was fun...
I'm pretty sure it's at least close to in-game graphics.

Take for example:

- PS3 version of Crysis 2

That's supposedly working on mid-play graphics. Now, if they're telling the truth and they've massively streamlined the Crytek 3 engine, then we're looking at all but photorealistic settings even on the consoles.

Impressive stuff.
Indeed. Even Crysis 1 still has fantastic graphics.

If they can optimize it for consoles, perhaps it will run smoother on PC's. I was able to run Crysis Warhead much more smoothly than Crysis, so we'll see...

Well, here's to hoping that the nanosuit will actually be useful this time around.

....It was useful in the first game. DO not take this in any sort of offense but, did you even play the game properly, or did you just stealth the whole way through? The suit is a tool, and a tool is only as good as the person who uses it. In the hands of a creative player that suit is a mighty damn good tool.

Okay... here's what I mean by useful: there has to be a faster way of switching between suit abilities than bringing up a menu that doesn't pause the game. I will admit that the stealth, speed, and armor abilities have been useful from time to time. But strength... well... I only really used that to throw objects to knock down buildings or to steady my sniper rifle. Because trying to get up close to use my fists seemed like a good way to get this billion dollar nanosuit turned into a billion dollar piece of swiss cheese. And besides... the game makes it pretty damn clear that you are part of a special ops. team, which to my mind means that you are SUPPOSED to be a little sneaky. And if done properly, SNEAKING does work.

See, it wasn't so much the abilities themselves that made the suit useless, it was the fact that the abilities were inconvenient to switch between, and that they all shared one "energy bar", and most of the abilities drained that little bastard too quickly for me to do much with them, and recharged sooooo fucking sloooow. They spent billions of dollars on this fucking thing, why couldn't it be more efficient?

That music was absolutely fucking terrible. It didn't go with that trailer at all.
Oh I totally disagree.
I thought it was extremely well placed. Any moron can put some heavy metal track to an action scene, but the point of the trailer isn't 'Ohh! Badass killing machines!', it's a sober look at the humanity within the destruction and occupation of New York...with aliens. That's why it starts with the wall of missing people, that's why the guy is looking at the picture and not running around gunning things down, and that's why we follow that one marine before he gets alien-ized.

The music just ties it all together!

I suppose if you don't like it, you don't like it. But I loved it.

What game were you playing?
Switch between the suit functions was a breeze! I could be in the middle of a fire-fight with shield on, switch to strength to get over a wall, and switch back to shield before I hit the floor. And the one energy bar and recharge rate (Neither of which really bothered me at all) was because you aren't a tank. Yeah, the suit rocks, but you aren't super man. If you didn't have any fear of dying, then stealth would be a moot point to the game, since you could just run in and destroy everything. It makes you think about what you're going to do, rather then just run in, guns blazing with a super fast recharging shield.

I really enjoyed the first game (Even if I was just playing it on my little netbook), and can't wait to try out number two on my 360!

I was playing Crysis. And as far as I'm aware of, the only way to switch between the different suit powers was to hold down the middle mouse button. And well... I playing this on a fucking LAPTOP. So take a wild guess as to why I think this method SUCKS. As far as I know there aren't any suit power hotkeys and there isn't a way to set them.

Solution 1: Plug in a mouse.

Solution 2: There ARE hot keys for suit powers, several actually. Again I don't mean to be rude but did you not even bother to look in the options menu? You can set suit powers to any key, and the game has pre-established hot keys for the powers that are intuitive.

ie: Double tap jump or melee to quick strength. Double tap crouch for stealth. Double tap run for speed. And double taps "S" for armor again.

Always look at the key config section of options before playing ANY PC game, and maybe you won't have that problem.

I can't imagine you'd use the trackpad to play an FPS. If you were, you'd have a lot more problems then just 'I can't switch between suit modes easily'. And that hardly seems like the game's fault. A simple $10 USB mouse would fix that problem.

Yes, I did look, and it wasn't very clear.
And I actually am playing with a peripheral mouse, but that doesn't remove the fact that the middle mouse button menu SUCKS.

Lies, all lies I say! The menus made it perfectly clear and so did the actual Manuel. That and the middle mouse interface was piss easy to use. Quickly click down on mid mouse and swipe to the power, oh how difficult. It's one of the best quick switch interfaces ever seen in an FPS.

Of course this is just my opinion I just felt the choice of singing and song ruined quite a lot of the feel.
Well, fair enough.
Let me ask a question or two, then: What was the feel supposed to be?
And what song would you have used?

Well, my first thought was that "Damn, I'm gonna buy this baby for my PS3", and the second thought was "But when is it launching..?" I haven't played Crysis 1, because my computer was sucky-sucky, and still is. But now that this one is multi-platform, I'll gladly be purchasing. The aliens look cool. Not irrelevant to topic, right? =)

What?? Click, swipe, done? That sucks?
I was switching between powers in an instant! It was so fast, so easy!
What would have been better? Pressing one of the 'F#' keys? Or any other key combination that would have taken your hands away from another, more vital control? Like moving? Man, that blows my mind. I didn't think anyone could complain about that.

Okay... try using that fucking menu in the heat of battle when you have 50 people shooting at you. See if that doesn't get you killed on the harder difficulties.

And will people please stop quoting me about this, I can have a contrary opinion about this issue.
See, since we have a limited number of weapon slots anyway, I thought it would've been better if the suit powers were assigned to the remaining number keys.

Er no... the reason it was a ***** for me to use was because no matter what peripheral mouse I used, no matter how I adjusted the game's mouse sensitivity, getting the arrow in the middle mouse button menu to stay still and stick with the power I wanted to use was a pain in the ass.

Please, please stop quoting me here. Lets just agree to disagree.

Well I guess here is where we butt heads.
The 'New York, New York' song is traditionally a loud, triumphant song which celebrates New York city as a wonderful, great place to be. The idea of using that very song, sung in that broken whisper, so slowly, so defeated, while carnage runs through the ruined and occupied streets of New York, produces so much imagery. That song is about life, new life in a big, great city. And here it is being played while so many die within it's streets.

I don't get the 'end of the world' feel at all, really.
More like the quiet contemplations of the weight of what has happened. This is why the guy in the suit doesn't act, really. He can only stand, stare at the picture, and soak it in. Explosions, yelling, gunfire...none of it moves him. It isn't until the end that he tightens his fist in resolve.

But, again, this is all fairly subjective I'm sure.
Neat to talk about, though!
