Ned leaned in to a microphone, and cleared his throat.
"Um, modified assistant droid, weapons test number one."

Ned looked over this strange version of Choppy. It had a darker color scheme, but that was about the only difference between them to the naked eye.

Code:
What weapon would you like to test, Ned.
Ned winced. As much as he complained about Choppy's personality, synthetics without anything programmed always seemed so... Artificial.

"Test basic camoflage, please."

After a brief moment, the droids color slowly changed. It got darker and darker from it's original blue, until it was black. Very black. It looked like a shadow had detached itself from the wall.

"Choppy, can you turn down the lights?"

There was a pause then the lights started to dim. Ned watched the droid intently.
After a few moments, he called out: "Stop!".

Ned grinned. "Perfect." The droid was practicaly invisible in this light. He could only imagine how hard it would be to see this thing at night.
Now, all he needed to do was implant it's personality, and name it.

"Right, it would seem as if everyone is ready." Leo looked around, surveying the small group accompying him. "Before we setoff though, I have something I'd like to cover. I'd like to go over just what the hell we're going to be doing once we get there." He pulled out a rough map. "Right, this was the last map of my village before I was banished. It shouldnt have changed too much. Ryan," He pointed to the lower right hand corner of the map," you will be positioned here. You'll comence the operation by launching 4 shells at the east side of the village. You will then sell the west side. You're job is to create mayhem, we want the people in a panic." Leo smiled,he was liking this plan. "The next job is up to myself and Ella. We are going to swing around from a canyon in the north west sector. To pull this off right we need to begin moving before the shelling. That way we can take advantage of the panic before the village warriors have time to react." Leo looked at the remaining 3 members of the squad, "You three will be providing covering fire from the south of the village, you should be able to see Ella and I when we make it to the north side. Once Ella and I reach Gil at the city center we will bring her aboard one of our mechs. Mine should do, Le'arda has plenty of space. After Gil has been picked up Ella and I will bolt for the lake, the rest of you will need to keep up the fire to cover us." Leo left the map on the table and stood back, "All in all the operation should not take more than 5 minutes to execute. Any sudden changes in the enemy need to be dealt with on the fly. The strategy relies mostly on the elements of the city that have not changed, so we should not have to compensate for much." Leo began walkign to Le'arda, "We leave in twenty minutes, any questions should be brought up now."

I don't really have a preference either way.

My character wouldn't be involved anyway, but I don't think we should skip anything.

Sure thing. I think I'll call it...

Code:
Raven, reporting for duty.

"You better be, after all that time I spent on you."

Ned was tired, but relieved. He had managed to finish the droid before the rescue mission. He hadn't implanted a personality yet, but that could be done afterwards.

"Alright, Raven. You are to go meet up with Leo and the other pilots. From now until the mission is over, do everything he says."

Code:
Affirmative.
At this, Raven sped off through the hangar exit.

"Affirmative"? Ned thought. Choppy probably would have said something like "Sure" or "Alright", but "Affirmative"? I need to code it's personality as soon as possible.

Ned went to work at his terminal.

I would have been good with whatever anyways :p

Ryan nodded his head as Leo described the plan of attack. "Oh yeah, we can definitely handle that. Don't you worry, mate. By the time me and Salo are done, those villagers will think the world is crashing around them!"

Damn right, it will! It'll be raining chaos when I get there, can't wait to see the terrified looks on their faces!

"Salo, we're not going to be anywhere near the village. We're the long-range bombing section. We're going to be stationed across the lake in the foothills."

.......Seriously? The blank stare coming from his pilot only confirmed what he thought. What the hell? Where's the fun in that?

"Look Salo, you're the one with the cannon, so we're the ones best suited for the job, and we want this to be a successful rescue mission, not an apology to the boss about why the hostage got blown to smithereens! So if we do this right, maybe we'll be considered for other missions, and won't get stuck on patrol duty anymore, hmmmm?"

Salo almost looked resigned at the sound of those words. Yeah, I guess you're right. All right, I'll just stay here until you're ready to go then.

"That's going to be right now, mate. I don't know if you heard, but bombing begins in 20 minutes! We're going now!" Ryan turned to the other pilots. "Sorry about that guys, but I guess that's why we're so good together. I know exactly what he needs to hear to come to his senses," Ryan explained to the others. "So I guess, I'll just need to get the frequency you guys are on for communication purposes and then I'll head up to the foothills, should be able to get up there pretty easily, I never see any traffic around them."

Kar simply grinned "So we're doing sniper support, eh?" He queried, already detaching the rifle from Crasher's leg
