looking at Square Enix right now, this kind of classics re-release might be the only way to save their ass.

SO EXCITED! Hopefully they start releasing their other classics, like Threads of Fate, on the PSN, too.

I've often heard of this game, but know nothing about it. So it's set in the same realm as Final Fantasy Tactics and XII? I'll look into this, but Record of Agarest War is currently eating up my time, and then Dragon Age 2 comes out Friday, which should hold me over till F.E.A.R. 3, after which Dead Space 2 will hopefully have dropped in price, so...I'm guessing I'm not getting this game till mid May at the earliest.

Vagrant Story, or "Medieval Gear Solid" as I refer to it, is one of those really good but flawed games. The story is excellent, the characters and the setting have a lot of style, and the combat is pretty fun.

However the underlying gameplay and leveling mechanics are essentially broken. In order to excel at the game, or even have a shot at beating any late-game bosses, you need to train your weapons by using them to beat enemies of the same type. This requires constant switching and fussing with swords, and this is all done through a series of byzantine menus and obscure stat screens, which are basically ass-backwards as fuck.

So essentially Vangrant Story may have been a good game, but I don't think it somehow didn't deserve it's fate.

Yeah, I've had this game for God knows how long, I've started playing it like four times, lose to the first boss, then rage out and quit.

Oh, I've heard of this game being good. Never actually played it though. But I can't play it now anyways because I don't have a next-gen console.

Huh, must have been the only game we in Australia got before you American kids. Really, the state of the PSN here...

Anyway, It bothers me that a PS1 port can take so long to arrive at a particular region only.

Nah, I still think this guy is worse.

Anyways, I never played Vagrant Story so I'll probably pick this up. But what the hell is with his uniform? I usually like strange attire in RPGs, but that just looks horrible.

Never played Vagrant Story? Here's your chance to make up for it.

Vagrant Story, like Xenogears, is one of those weird games - released on the PS1 in 2000 to critical acclaim, it apparently sold well enough to be included in Sony's "Greatest Hits" collection. Yet it always seems like nobody you know ever played it.
Neat. I still have both Vagrant Story and Xenosaga on disks, so this is mostly academic for me, but still, neat. People really should check these game out - they are both great games.

He has the spectacular power of clairvoyance.
Either way, it's frequently cited as one of the brightest stars of Square-Enix's classic lineup, and it can now be yours for $6 if you live in North America. If you live in Japan or Europe, you've already had it for sale since 2009, so you're probably wondering what all the fuss is about.

Oh Matsuno, the man doesn't have a single bad game to his credit (I don't count FFXII since he never finished it). I consider VS to be his best game and my favorite of all time tied with FFVII

Remember to the newbs: it's all about managing Risk. Take off your weapons and your Risk goes down faster. You need low Risk, (like below 30 or so), to do good dmg. You also save items reducing Risk that way. You need items for big boss battles. Also, keep your stuff in good repair (duh) so you can maximize dmg. This game is one of my favs, ICYDK. hehe!

It has been on the EU PSN for a long time. I want them to just offer the same games in the different PSNs anyways, since there a tons of games that are region exclusive right now like for example Bloody Roar.

And yet she's still no match for the king.
