Yes, Black Ops is good. Good enough to last you til the next Call of Duty. But what if there was something better? What if there was a game that combined the gritty realism of CoD with the comradery and strategy of say, Team Fortress 2? Fuck, that'd be awesome, you say.

Well I'm here to tell you there is such a game. It's already out. Millions of players have already made the switch, and they haven't looked back. It's called Bad Company 2. Maybe you've heard some people mention this game, perhaps saying that it's just as good as Call of Duty. Well, they're wrong. It's better.

Imagine taking your call of duty dude, hopping into a tank and blasting guys trying to run up and plant explosives on your treads while your teammate repairs damage. Imagine wiping the smug grin off that camper's face when you destroy the building he's camping in with a rocket launcher. Imagine instead of calling in helicopter support, you pilot the helicopter yourself and strike fear into the hearts of ant-like enemies. Imagine all this stuff and more while still being able to fight effectively with a machine gun or a rifle and upgrading your class like in CoD. Imagine defeating crackshot teams with superior strategy.

Imagine no more. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the game Modern Warfare 2 should have been and Black Ops should be. But don't take my word for it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p4fkH9qC4M&feature=player_embedded#! Boo doop doop!

Just a couple of questions. Since when is Black Ops realistic? I mean if you think about it Black Ops is about as realistic as fable 3, not to say either is a bad game I actualy find both enjoyable. Also, is there strategy to TF2 and is there an active thread with an explination on the overall strategy and how it fits into classes and maps?

I'm curently in the process of watching a BC2 let's play and I was thinking of getting it, but me and my friends decided to wait for BF:MC3. I will admit the story is intresting so far. As for multiplayer I have to give credit to the destructable enviorment and vehicles.

Edit: Hello this is me from the future and I take it back, Fable 3 is awful, cheers.

"Cure for the common sequel" ... "Bad Company 2"

...2?

As in... a sequel... to a common franchise?

So do I.

EDIT: And sure I know, don't feed the trolls etc... But I play neither online as I can't stand the people. but I do like to LAN both. They're both very different, and sometimes it's nice to just go play a game that doesn't require teamwork. It's also nice not to have vehicles sometimes, because some asshole always finds a way to use it in cheap stupid ways. An extreme example but an exampl nonetheless: the Elephant being taken up the top of the hill on the far side of the map in Halo 3 on Sandtrap in an Infection match.

I enjoy BC2, more than MW2 but some people prefer the latter. Bad Company is typically a slower game, while MW is much more fast paced. Black Ops should not have been BC2. Or you could always wait for Brink which should be fucking awesome.

I found Bad Company 2 to be much too similar to Modern Warfare. If you don't like the feel of Modern Warfare, you probably won't like Bad Company 2. I recommend Bad Company 1 instead. Or, you could go back further and play Battlefield: Vietnam or Battlefield: 1942, but it's hard to find decent servers for those nowadays...

...Not really much of a "cure for the common sequal" to say one sequal is better then another sequal from the same genre... It would be like saying a band-aid is a cure for all dieseases because it helps with cuts... I'm guessing this is a troll, and if so, I shouldn't bother posting this comment. Damn lack of self control...

Im not gonna go into it but its not that good.

Sure its the just about the only team oriented game ever made where a team of guys without mics can somewhat effecively play, but to me it doesnt have much...stuff to do as an individual. Play 3 matches and whoopie, you've practically finished the multiplayer.

And people just suck so every team focused game gets knocked on its arse.

I was playing BF1942 online about two weeks ago, and there's still ~16 people on 24/7 Midway servers, and I lucked out enough to find a server with 28 people on it which was shuffling through several different maps. This was from about 4 am EDT to 9 am EDT.

Was great fun, and those were just the servers I pinged well to. (under 60 ping on each)

There were more that weren't near me, but for someone playing at strange hours of the night on east coast USA, there's a few servers, and they were good enough to have fun with.

ANYWAY, ironically, what spawned my 6 hour 1942 spree was playing Bad Company 2 a bit and realizing it just made me miss 1942 more...Why, I can't say...It might be the dust, or the setting, or the lack of familiarity, but BF1942 seems like the best WWII FPS I've played, (probably best WWII game next to Close Combat 2 and CoH...)

I am not a troll, I am a human being! A troll is someone who is bitter and angry and tricks people into entering their sad little world by insulting their favorite game, movie, whatever, manipulating said fans into defending. I am trying to suggest an alternative to Black Ops because that game was built on a developer burial ground.

Also, Bad Company 2 improves and builds upon Bad Company and the other Battlefield games, while Call of Duty offers more of the same. That is what I mean by cure for the common sequel.

You're insulting a game to try goad a response, or "trick people into entering [your] sad little world by insulting their favorite game".

So, troll.

This all comes down to opinion, so unless you just want a petty Call of Duty vs Battlefield argument, you're not gonna get much out of this thread.
