Everyone who thinks the new album is generic, boring, or terrible has clearly never heard this song:

You're welcome.

I first came in contact with Muse when a friend used to play tracks from the 'Supermassive black hole' album when he set up tech for drama productions. My dad had actually purchesed said album but didn't like it so lo, that became mine and it is one of my favourite albums. However, there latest stuff is terrific as well.
I can't comment on what they did before, but MK Ultra is one of my all time favourite pieces of music.

(Off topic: One day I shall 100% Knights of Cydonia on Guitar Hero III... one day...)

Edit: Yeah, this:

They're awesome :) One of my favourite bands. My favourite song is probably Take a Bow, One of the best Album openers, to one of the best albums, of ALL TAIM.

I like Muse well enough. I'm not a frequent listener, but I like what I've heard of them.

I don't really like them, a lot of their songs sound very similar to me, but not in a good way. Watched them live on TV though and i thought they played well live.

I was a fan since Plug in Baby. I'm a bit less into them now but certain songs like Knights Of Cydonia are truly amazing.

Meh they're good in small doses, all that wangst can get a bit much sometimes, although there's no denying they're bloody good musicians.

I like them. I can't think of anyone who doesn't like them, tbh.
You now know someone. Their music is boring. I'd rather have silence than the white noise they create.

Not an attempt at flaming, just putting it out there.

Muse has been one of my favourite bands, though their newer stuff I'm not a fan of as much. The Resistance is very different to their older albums, and is much more "mainstream". I'm into heavier stuff like:

The music in this was actually good, but the song wasn't great. I didn't listen to the whole thing due to the vocals. I haven't found anything else by them not fitting the description I gave earlier.

I liked them when I was younger and still like a couple of their songs, Butterflies and Hurricanes for example, but generally find them a bit tedious and pantomimey. They're like Queen without the awesomeness.

I don't like them. I liked exactly 1 song by them but even that started to get on my nerves since the singer sounds like a... Well I wont say but yeah, s/hes annoying.

Edit: Actually, I half take it back. Relistening to the song I find my annoyance of it has faded but yeah, if I listened to it a few more times I would rehate it.

If someone could suggest say their top 3 Muse songs so I can get more of a feel for their better works then I would appreciate it.
Me personally I've always loved the songs Hysteria, Citizen Erased, and Dead Star

Personally I kinda like they way they shift and evolve with each album to some extent. I loved Resistance, but mostly because it had a big Orwellian 1984 kinda vibe. All I know is when they came to Austin I jumped at the chance to see em live. Still is the best live performance I've ever been to.

Words cannot express how jealous I am of you. I'dve killed for the chance to go to that. Thats still my favorite live album of ANY band I listen to. Hearing the crowd sing the instrumental to Knights of Cydonia makes my hair stand on my arms haha. That and the insane as hell ending to Stockholm Syndrome.
