Buy one, bedazzle it, and put it on the internet.

OK, so that wouldn't really solve anything, but based on their reaction, you could assess if you feel that their opinions are worth their time.

Not one of these forums had anything positive to say about this gun. They universally hated it, based on looks alone. Escapists, look at that gun. Does anyone see the hideous monstrosity they see? I don't. Is it just a purist thing, that lever actions need wood furniture?
Look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Well, that is an important consideration. Not many people know this, but you get a respawn if you can prove the gun that killed you doesn't look cool enough.
...
Seriosuly, it's a gun, not a fashion accessory. If "looking nice" was the priority for the designers, do not buy their gun.
lol!
But yeah; this thing was made to look nice and curvy and futuristic to win a contract:

The problem?

The plastic bits melted when it was fired and testers found it really unergonomic and too heavy..
They're using this now instead:

Mild gun enthusiast here. Judging from looks alone, it looks flimsy as all hell. Looks like the stock would fall off under the hell I put my guns under. However, just because it looks flimsy, doesn't mean that it is.

I would like to point out something more to what are looking for. You want a 30-30, and were asking about range, the caliber really doesn't provide any. A 30-30 is one half-step up from a .22. I own 2 30-30 carbines, and they are absolutely perfect for hunting in thick brush because they are light and short and easy to carry, but with a 30-30 I wouldn't expect a clean kill on large game beyond 150 yards. Not without a near-perfect shot. As with all things, it depends on what you plan to do with it, but the 30-30 is really a niche weapon in modern times, it just doesn't have the powder.

Which kinda brings me to my next point, why on earth does a 30-30 come equipped with a flash suppressor?
Well the gun is only chambered in .30-30 and 22LR. I don't like how the .22 looks. it has a flash suppressor because the barrel's only 16 and a quarter, and apparently it manages to put off a significant flare. If you think THATS ridiculous, check out the .22. you can have it equipped with a MUZZLE BRAKE.
The other thing is that I'm buying this purely for collecting. I doubt I'll ever use it in a real-world scenario. not until society breaks down and i can murder with impunity anyway.

Why would you want a tactical 30-30?

Like...what's the point?

30-30 is a hunting round, you don't need telescoping stocks and plastic to cut weight. someone mentioned backpacking, but other than that...

The reason people are hating this is because it doesn't fit. For a tac weapon lever action is an obvious bad choice and for a hunting weapon none of it's design help this gun.
see, thats the first good explanation of the hate. Thanks

As I said though, I'm only gonna be purchasing guns for the sake of collecting guns I think are nifty.

My plan is to own an SAA, 1911, FN P90 and Five-seveN, and an a few others.
This is also only 400 bucks, so if its a waste of money, its a cheap one compared to most of the ones i want

AGAIN i must FACE THE MUSIC

I don't know, looks pretty ugly.

I love the aesthetic of the old wooden level-action rifles, it just looks cleaner and less... plastic.

My only experience with guns is from games, by the way. So, don't expect me to know anything about ammo, etc. I appreciate guns purely from an aesthetic and engineering perspective.

I love gun porn :D
The engraving doesnt give any tactical advantage. The gun is for show, not fighting. *Sneaky reference*

Frankly, the thing looks more like a rifle than a shotgun. The collapsible stock, flash suppressor and handguards make it look like a M4 carbine or a Canadian C8A2 as I'm used to. I've never fired a shotgun so I don't know how it stacks up against other models.

Frankly, if the only complaints are about its appearance and you like it, then go for it.

I think the styles just clash. Imagine an M16 with a wooden stock and grip. I just don't think it would look right.

It just looks over-designed/unnecessary.

From an aesthetic standpoint... yeah. It looks like someone swapped out the textures between their copies of Red Dead Redemption and Call of Duty. The shape of the rifle fits with older lever actions, but it looks like it was cobbled together with pieces from a modern assault rifle.

Honestly it looks like the creation of an amateur who is starting to use PimpMyGun. Note that I'm not a gun-expert and just another gamer.
Yeah, like that.

It looks like a rifle because it is one. .30-30 is a rifle cartridge that has a round bullet so they can stack in a tube magazine.

OT: It could be a purist thing, but I can think of better weapons to use where you'd want a foregrip or light mounted on your weapon, which is the whole point of those rails.

My assumption of the hate is based on the gun's grip. With regular lever-actions, the palm can comfortably wrap around the top of the stock while the finger hangs next to the trigger. That one just looks... bleh, the palm is probably resting on ridged material compared to finished wood, and it'd be sliding down a whole bunch and putting unnecessary weight on the bottom fingers that are inside the finger lever.

It's pretty much for people who like lever actions and people who like modern looking guns. And apparently, it's for people who aren't too keen on bolt-actions. It's what I will deem a 'bastard gun'.

Personally, though I'm not a fan of lever guns, I see no problem with the gun having synthetic furniture. That said, I'd do without the accessory rails. Honestly, why would you need a foregrip, laser sights and a flashlight on that?

Ima stick with my pump shotguns and bolt rifles. Although if someone were to send an AR-15 my way, I wouldn't turn it down...

No interest in guns whatsoever, but if that were a suit I'd say it has far too many patterns clashing.

Reminds me of a rather aggressive-looking sex toy.

A lot of useless stuff on it. The grip is one where you'd likely put a grip on and the would be useless on a gun like this.

The adjustable stock could be useful.

Sight's look to complicated.

Still neat looking gun.
