I'm due for a new desktop and was wondering are custom ones worth the price. Here's a website where im "building" mine and the final cost for my specifications is about $1100:

Are there any other sites or stores with similar customization or just a good values for desktops. And can someone please explain the ends and outs of a good motherboard.

I would definitely recommend against the water cooling system the give you, it's crap. And it's a nightmare if you ever decide to remove it and put in a proper air cooled system. At least the one they gave me was crap.

Otherwise it's really not too bad for a prebuilt. I'm sure you get a decent warranty with it as well. Only other gripe that I'd have is no OS being on it but I'd suspect you have something ready to install already.

I agree. I got one from them too and went for their water cooling thing. It was this piece of junk that didn't have any way to refill the water when it gets low. So I just got rid of it and put a normal heatsink + fan on the processor instead. And that picture they show for the water cooler they want to give you looks exactly like the same piece of crap I had received.

If you get that computer, I would strongly recommend switching to the "Certified CPU Fan and Heatsink" option so that you can take $10 off your bill now, instead of spending a lot more than $10 later for the parts to replace it yourself, or the parts and labor to have someone do it for you.

Thanks so much, I never knew water cooling was so bad. In fact I was opting to get it but now its air cooling for me. Also i don't overclock, last time i did it just failed on me.
