A Green Lantern ring? For an engagement ring, surely you'd go for the Star Sapphire version...

Hey, don't knock it. My wedding ring is a Green Lantern ring and it's awesome.

Yeah, but you probably got married before 2007. The Green Lanterns are cool, but they represent Will. These days, <url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Sapphire_%28comics%29#Violet_power_ring>this one might be more appropriate.

i wish i could get a ring like that to wear to show my love to the person i will spend my entire happy life with, but giving her a ring that she will love is just as good. (not better or worse)

Why do I now think that the wedding vows are the Green Lantern Oath?

Priest: Umm... right.

Bride: He said since that ring he bought me cost him a few thousand bucks, he would get to have his own vows.

This just seems a bit silly to me, but whatever floats your boat i guess.

Still though, the ad is super cute. =) I think it captures the essence of how awesome it is to find someone who is deeply into the same things as you.
