Sounds like some moron just wanted to feel good about themselves for getting someone fired. Seriously, people need to calm the hell down.

Let's see.. I've got two t-shirts that could be considered offensive. But only in middle-America. One of them is my 'Bush Family Butchers' one, the there's my Native American Homeland Security shirt.

Just to throw a spanner or something in here - as it was obvious that she worked in that establishment, she was, in effect, representing that establishment. If ever I go into work out of hours I wouldn't dream of wearing my Cradle of Filth tops, or my "Scary Lesbian" top, because it is inappropriate.

But then

This was offensive?

If that was the t shirt then the old woman was either completely ridiculous OR had a gutter mind worse than anyone I know.

..... I never really understood the appeal wearing really graphic or gory shirts. I have a few affliction shirts, and a couple really nerdy shirts (including one with the periodic table of elements on it) but I usually opt for shirts without logos. I am not really bothered by what people decide to wear, but the offensive shirts you mentioned are pretty low-rent in my opinion. Maybe this is an effect of too much time spent in various office positions, but I have found that a collared shirt goes a long way toward making a good impression in almost any circumstance.

OP: Please punctuate. It's not that hard.

Nobody has ever been offended by my shirts though they're kinda hit and miss on offensiveness.

The only ones i have that can offend right now are my devildriver and cradle of filth T's.

Devildriver: Has the hook-cross on the front and on the back it has a pic of the devil whispering in Jesus's ear.

Cradle of Filth: Not really offensive but it has some monster on it and on the back it says "Mother of Abominations" after the last track on their Nymphetamine album. I really want someone to comment on this one though cuz I think it would be hilarious to see someone like me walking by and read that on their back.

Firstly, proofread your posts. Your grammar and spelling are atrocious.

Secondly, find something interesting to write about. Humans being overly sensitive stories are almost as common as humans being bastards stories. The difference is that the latter tend to actually be entertaining.
How about stories where people don't find value in any activity apart from complaining because they have nothing better to do? You bring shame to the name of spelling and grammar nazis. Seriously, what the fuck is the point in you even responding to this thread? It's only worthwhile blasting somebody about mistakes when they're trying to pass themselves off as an intellectual.

OT: The old lady is like Extraintrovert here. She most likely has personal issues that make her very unsettled about her own life and lashes out at others without much cause or reason. If your boss has any sense he will promise the little old pervert to have a word with his staff and then mention it casually to your friend. If he has a backbone of course.

There is no grounds for such a silly accusation. She's on her own time, with no affiliation with the store in any capacity. That lady needs a life.

I don't really care what's on my shirts, as long as it's not feminine, childish or offensive (not to me, that's just not possible. try to offend me, you'll find yourself in a corner later).

It gives you a much better impression that way.

Well, at work, my grandma (yes I work with my grandma) got uppity about one of the waitresses wearing cleavage tops on a regular basis. But a shirt with an owl and some words that may be conveyed as offensive? And while you're not working? Sounds like the lil old lady's a little over the top.

EDIT: The most offensive shirt I own is a shirt of Wolverine, which might be thought of as unprofessional, but I'm a delivery driver, so furked if I care.
Screw working with your grandmother, you own a Wolverine T-shirt? That's freakin' awesome, xD

(I'm a sucker for Marvel)

(In more ways than one)

(Hope someone found that offensive)

I love the breaking out the 'Jesus is Fucking Metal' and 'Jesus is a C**t' (not censored but i dunno how tolerant the Escapist is of that word). If somebody hasn't posted it here already may i recommend looking up Steve Hughes' bit on being offended on Youtube

I think the customer simply thought your co-worker was currently on a shift and quite understandably pissed with what your co-worker considered "uniform". You should have just explained that while she works here, she's not currently on a shift- and so can wear whatever she likes pretty much.
