Haha fanboys.

"How can you give a game negative marks for not having co-op!!!!! You can only review that content that's there. It's like someone reviewing mario and then deducting points for it not having machine guns!!!
I just hope your score was based on what you played, and not on what you didn't play"

I think giving negative score for something that aint there but should is logic.

Sorry but those comments are pure gold!

"You absolute M$ loving slags. If this was on that broken piece of trash masquerading as a console with it's last hope being the pointless Alan Lakes, you'd give this undeniable perfection of a game 12/10. And it is undeniably perfect, even though it's a shooter, and I hate shooters, but it's on my beloved PS3 so that's different, isn't it, my precious?"

I haven't seen the predicted scores to be honest, a few 5 /5's but (maybe its just the fanboy's highlighting each case) but I have seen a number of scores lower than the projected 10's. Whilst most "pure" gaming press are giving the game 5's. Those in the more casual scene are giving it 4/5's, or 8's.

At the end of the day the fanboyism over a game they haven't even played is outrageous.

The complete disconnect from reality that these people exhibit is staggering. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but is Killzone 2 even out yet? I mean, shit, no one outside of the developers and reviewers have actually played the whole game. Lots of games look impressive in the first ten minutes of a demo.

Maybe I'm overreaching, but it kind of seems like PS3 fanboys are reacting the same way Republican fanboys are: after nearly a decade of domination, they are now playing second fiddle and are absolutely losing their shit over it.

(Note: Not all Republicans, but pay attention to what pundits like Rush Limbaugh are doing, and tell me he's not totally losing his shit.)

Really? I never once saw a review site take points off Bioshock or Call of Duty 4 because they didn't have co-op. You shouldn't deduct points for what isn't there.

And this, kiddies, is why you should read the review, and not just the scores. Or maybe just the verdict: in my books: "Spectacular from start to finish." is pretty high praise....

ANd is it just me, or do the PS3 fanboys seem to be far worse than most other varieties? From what I've seen of the KZ2 reviews and their comments, there seems to be a great collective chip on the shoulder of many of these people...

It's not like it's coming out next month or something. It's coming out tomorrow. And the demo gave everyone that played it a pretty good feel for Killzone 2's gameplay. And from what I've seen, most of the levels in the game are actually better than that first level that was shown in the demo, so I'm not worried in the least.

Awesome. In that case Alone in the Dark gets a 10/10. Sure, the game actually contains not one molecule of actual fun but you can't deduct points for what isn't there.

Am I the only one old-fashioned enough to think that 8.7 is a bloody good score?
Since when does a game need 11 out of 10 from every reviewer to be worth playing?
I wish someone would dissect a fanboys' brain, so we can see how their brain is wired.

Who says it should be?
I addressed the issue according to the persons review. He says that Killzone 2 is lacking a Co-op mode even that is based on a big war, and then says it doesnt make sense that it doesnt have co-op considering that Co-Op is starting to be a big selling point in FPS.

Bioshock having co-op would make no sense and the game its mainly a SP game. CoD4 I agree it should have but it came out before the big Co-Op fever.

These days you have games like Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2, Resistance 2 and CoD:WaW, why should KZ2 not bring Co-Op to the table? The story is there big war in a planet, war everywere big army on one side another on the other side, why doesnt it bring Co-Op wich would prolong the campaign side of the game. This is what the reviewer is talking about, and what I am stressing out.

Once again, I bring out my definitive counter argument for things of this sort.

I am seriously hoping that that's done in irony.

Point taken: apologies for generalising (I probably should have phrased what I said more as a question...)

However, what I said still stands about this being a very positive review: maybe the score is a bit unfair about co-op, but who really and truly cares that the game 'only' got 87% and was described as 'spectacular'

I point you towards some of the comments on this account, from a subtly named gent called "ps3lover008".

And my personal favourite;
fuck you you fucking gayass piece of shit ps3 and wii own you can go wipe your douche with your 360
I get the impression fanboys are rather like fascists and communists - opposites, but yet, exactly the same...

when did an 8.7 become a bad game.

there's normally little difference in that 8-10 area. Its all a bunch of fanboy penis waving, where they can whip out some arbitrary score to satiate their need to not buy another console.

Anything above an 8 is normally a strong suggestion.

Yes, but thats also a Youtube commenter. You have to really wonder which of the factors is most directly linked to the results.
Most likely a strong mixture of both.
