From that date, almost all weapons are made from the same type of ammo. But the companies still wanted a defineing aspect, so they made special ammo. Like Mark-12 rounds for the Mark-12 weapons. Since there is only 10 big manufacterers on earth, there are only 10 types of ammo for their diffrent weapons. There are only a few, rare exceptions. Like the T-erex pistol, which uses special ammo, and has an unknown manufacterer.
So yes, they have ammo compatibility.

You get your gear and go back to your room. T-erex. That was some kind of acid, right? Not the one you get high off, but the normal, melty kind. You look at the weapons. The assualt rifle is big and clunky. Should be too, for that price. The shotgun looks like one of those old Spaz-12.
You look inside your locker. Kate and Steiner have already fallen asleep.
There´s a basic gas mask, 10 oxygen tanks, a Mark-12 semi-automatic pistol and a combat knife.
You put the knife in your left holster, strap the mask on your back-hip, the pistol on your right holster, the oxygen tanks in your bag and the wepaons on your back. Now you´re ready to serve your country.
You go to bed and fall asleep.
You skip breakfast the next morning. Mostly because you didn´t bother to get up. You and Albert get into the cafeteria to get a snack. Albert has agreed to pay for you.
"Where´s Kate, anyway?"
"She went up early, something about some guys..."
Albert doesn´t get further until you see Kate. She´s surronded by some brats hitting on her.
"Yum yum yum...Girl, you are the tastiest treat in this cafteria." says one of them. You think his name is...Gabriel stone. That´s his squad, the stoners. Bet he though he was real funny when he came up with that.
"Could you leave me alone?" asks Kate. You know Kate. If those guys go over the limit, she´ll kick their ass. But she doesn´t like fighting without a reason. You, however, are not bound by such limits.
"No girl, we can´t. Because we want an asian treat..." he tries to touch her, but she takes his hand and slaps him.
Gabriel looks suprised, then angry.
"You fucking whore!" he grabs her by the shoulders. Kate breaks free.
"Look, just get away from me, okay?" she asks.
"C´mon you slut, give in!" screams one of the gangmembers.
"Say Danny, how about we defend a certain asian snipers honor?" asks Albert.
Start a fight?
A:Sneak up and knock them out.
B:Charge in!

D:Try to convince them to leave.

"That sounds just swell, my dear Albert." you respond.
You both run up to the gang members.
"The fuck you want?" asks Gabriel.
You punch him in the face and he stumbles backwards.
Albert takes the nearest gangster and lifts him over his head.
He then throws him into a wall.
The other two members charge at you and manage to punch you in the gut.
However, when one of them tries to do a counter-attack you dodge and ounch him in the nuts.
He falls down and wimpers.
Gabriel has recovered from the punch and charges at you.
You dodge the attack and manage to kick Gabriel in the jaw.
You hear a sickening crack as his jawbone shatters.
It´s no biggie. He´ll be up from that in an hour or two.
Albert bull rushes the last member into a wall.
All the members except the one Albert threw into a wall are lying down and wimpering.
The member he threw into a wall is unconcious.
"Yuu fukker!" screams Gabriel.
"You kiss your mother with that mouth?" you ask.
"Ocay. Yuu wand a chaleenge? Meet me heerre tomoroow at noon!" he screams.
"I´m sorry, but you sound like a fucking chipmunk. Could you clarify?"
Gabriel passes out.
You look around for Kate. She´s standing in a cornor.
"You okay?"
"I can take care of myself you know. And i don´t like fighting. But still, thanks."
"You´re welcome." you answer.

The man giving the lecture is the man who asked you all that stuff.
"Quiet please!" he says.
He shows some pictures on a screen. The planet looks like mars...only it´s orange and it seems to ooze some kind of green smoke. Probably their "air"
"Khe san is a member of the complexo solar system. The planet is relatively close to the sun, which explains it´s high temprature and desert enviorment. But don´t worry, your armors are made to keep your body tempratures at a good level. As long as it doesn´t get too hot, you´ll live."
"Khe san oxygen is toxic, as sergeant Johnson may have told you. It´s the green smoke that you may see on the picture. The Xenos lungs however, can breathe it. But they can´t breathe our oxygen, oddly enough. Also, one more thing. Khe san´s water is oil. Roughly 50% of the planet is filled with oil."
"But wait, this planet doesn´t seem like a good place to live!" you say.
"We can purify the air, and we can drain the oil on the planet and replace it with artificial water." he answers.
You walk out of the lecture room.
"Well that was...informative." says Kate.
"Yeah. As informative as my ass." says Albert.
"ATTENTION! Squad B-6 should rapport to the cafeteria to meet their new recruit."
You get to the cafeteria.
Nothing could prepare you for what you see.
The recruit is...covered in some small boils. He´s clothes look like he found them in a cave.
His face is torn and filled with scars. His skin is in a slight tone of green. Everyone is staring at him.
He pulls up a cigarette and lights it.
He puts it in his mouths and takes a long breath.
"Okay. Which one of you dipshits is the leader of Squad B-6." says the man.
"Th-that´s me." you say. This guy isn´t human...is he?
He walks up to you and takes a long look.
"Hm. Well, you´re no Lovisa, but you´ll do." he says.
"What...what are you?" you ask.
"I´m a gatekeeper." he answers.
Gatekeeper...Lovisa...you´ve heard both in some history book.
"Well we can´t very well call you that. So what´s your name?"
He smiles.
"Daniel. My name´s Daniel." he says.
The rest of your squad seems just as suprised as you are.
You all stare at him.
"If we´re going to get anything done, i suggest that we stop staring at me and do something."
"Wh-"
"Look, if you´re gonna ask another question, just read this paper. It should explain the lot."
He hands you a paper.
