do any of u know of arena, it was the whole continent, hence why it didnt have a specific name
That's not the reason it didn't have a specific name. It was called Arena because it was originally intended to follow suit with Bethesda's previous sports games and essentially be a game based on a gladitorial arena combat and constructing teams with new fighters. However, they ended up adding and adding and adding to the parts in between the arena combat that it ended up being an entirely different game all together, so they created the lore and developed it into the first Elder Scrolls game and obviously keeping the orginal title as a subtitle, Arena.

No, they called it Arena since it was originally just going to be an Arena combat game. A medieval-style gladiator game was all it was going to be. They just never changed the name when they changed the game.

I should really learn to read other people's posts first in future lol.

Probably just a case of the dev team thinking of everything [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheDevTeamThinksOfEverything]. You know, just something special for the people who would do something like get out of the map and go south.

Well, somebody made a New Vegas mod where you go to the wastes of Washington from Fallout 3. It's not that far fetched.
That's not an expansion. it's a fanmade mod...

big difference.

I thought you could go to Morrowind in Oblivion. At least a bit of it.
No you couldn't.
Technically you could go to where the map said "Morrowind" by disabling the borders and just heading East. But you'd eventually just get to the end of the game-world.

Yes. I said it was a mod, in fact. But thank you for reminding me, my brain is made of cheese and I have the memory retention of a dog with Alzheimer's. The service you have rendered me in repeating my own post back to me is astonishing in its value.

So... what's your point?

I could see an expansion where you maybe got a small chunk of Cyrodiil, perhaps some main Imperial city which would be totally different since the centuries past, and probably much larger and more fortified and secure. I mean F3 took you to Pittsburgh, right?

Maybe they are saving that idea for an MMORPG. Which would be incredible.

I can't imagine them making an expansion like that tbh... be like them making an expansion for oblivion where you go to morrowind

Could you? o:
I know you could run across a member of the Morag Tong (remember: they're not sanctioned outside of Morrowind), and I think there may have been a cave network on the border, but I'm not sure.

I know there was a cave network that pushed you up into Skyrim, which was tied into one of the Bruma quests, but that's the only time I'm absolutely certain you left Cyrodil for another province.

I'd like to see Bethesda do a slow, but sure, expansion setup, slowly adding entire continents, or bits of 'em. Kind of like an MMO, I guess, except not.

Also...
I love the little glimpse of Cyrodill you've offered us with your screencap, OP. Had absolutely no idea that was there. I saw it and my heart skipped a beat: I see White Gold Tower, and I can pick out some similarities in Lake Rumare, I believe it is.

Same here. I'd just become a blacksmith/enchanter, and basically be a legendary merchant and get ridiculously wealthy, cutting deals on Dragon Armor to noobs.

Arena. The first Elder Scrolls game. It had every province, Summerset Isles, High Rock, Valenwood, you name it, it had it. The game world was HUGE. It would take you ten real time hours to get from one side of Tamriel to the other.

Unfortunately, everything outside the main quest was randomly generated, leading to alot of repetition.

In any case, if you're interested, check out this page:

I'm not sure why so many people in this thread want to go back to Cyrodil. It's been one of the least interesting provinces. I would prefer they make an expansion that allows you to go somewhere else. Maybe Summerset Isles, or Valenwood to fight the Aldmeri Dominion.
