This wasn't quite as spectacular as I thought it'd be. Also, is the next on one of those hoses that come out the back of a drying machine?

YAY MERCURY VAPOUR!

Please tell me this was either a Hg-free bulb, or you had a mask on (couldn't tell from the angle) to go with the goggles, catch-net and cowering in fear, and the place was well ventilated...

Much as I liked seeing it go smashy smashy I thought I'd point it out, as both the manufacturer, our recyclers, and our health and safety bods have been hardcore about the risk of mercury contamination from smashed UHP type bulbs.

How if it had been hooked up to current, then we could have seen the filament go pop! It would have been so much more satisfying than an unpowered bulb. Oh well.
