I'm a big fan of the new enemies. The Weeping Angels were a fantastic idea, and the Silence was pretty awesome too. Plus, when they finally DO come back, it'll be all the more awe inspiring.

i don't really mind, because i think the dalek redesign is really bad. i thought that the brass/cooper metal look was really good and rusty, and i know steven moffat is bringing it back to how it was, but isn't that stepping backwards. but you can't have dr. who without daleks

The daleks sucked, although they did scare me when i was a kid. :)Now all you have to do is go upstairs and they are beaten. Maybe all they need is some kind of next generation dalek?
Some one hasn't watched series one!~

i'm glad they are going. i mean, they're great, but them turning up every series was... too repetitive. i want them to return in 2 or 3 series, but a rest for a while would be good ^^

so what are your opinions on this. For me I welcome it because for me they don't strike fear any more now that they are enemy's like The Silence and Weeping Angels.
are you 8 ? because if the answer is no they weren't really meant to scare you in the first place.
No im not 8 ,and when I meant strike fear what I was meaning was what are they going to do now and how are they going to do it . and yeh they are suppose to scare you any way well the audience anyway because remember it is also aimed at at kids as well and I have not seen any being scared when one appears on screen

FORKing finally! My parents say the used to be scariest thing around, but now they're just laughable.

The new doctor who series has handled the Daleks extremely poorly. Having been once terrifying they are now comical and usually very easily defeated.

If they are going to give them a rest, I hope in the time before the next Dalek episode they find someone who can actually capture the true nature of the Daleks. I mean look at the way they've been portrayed in the new series do you (from what you've seen) actually believe that the Daleks could actually be a match for the timelords in the time war?

Reboot them in the next series. Make them something that the Doctor can truly be afraid of for once. Also please reboot the Cybermen, do a proper origin story not some bullshit where they were created on Earth.

Yeah, I'm glad they're taking a break too. My favourite Dr. Who enemies are the ones that mess with your head in some way.

The Daleks may have arguably been the ultimate physical enemy, but I'll always prefer The Weeping Angels, The Silence, House and the enemy from Midnight. They're the psychological enemies, and that is always scarier.

Nice to see them get a break, like everyone said, it'll enable them to come back in a grandeur fashion later on. They'll always be the classic enemy.

I can just picture them lying on a beach or something, taking a vacation XD.
