I still don't like him.

There are a few celebs that have redeemed themselves in my eyes by doing something humorous and/or making fun of themselves...though I cannot think of any at this current moment.

Holy shit hes good...HATE!

Just because you dislike something that a person does, doesn't mean you should dislike the person. While I do hate the capitalist mentality of producing culture that is designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator in the sole intrest of their own greed instead of an honest expression of their feelings as an art-form, I do not despise them as people for I am not the judge of what is human and what is not.
That's why so much art gets created though, all the money. Do you really think all these wonderful musicians, game designers, actors, and writers would do it for free? Some would, certainly, but capitalism drives such things into fruition in much greater numbers.

In fact, in heavily socialist states, very little quality art gets created. A lot of propaganda gets made though, if you're into that.

(And who says there is no room for honest expressions of feeling amongst giant piles of cash? :p)

Frankly, I don't think that people who think that money is more important than the media they're putting out should be called artists at all.
I don't believe that capitalism drives the creation of art, quite the opposite actually.
The capitalist propaganda proclaims that the weathier you are, the happier you are.
You can see this all the time in the mainstream media.
It makes the youth want to work to get a job and to earn a lot money to then in turn buy all the prularia that that media puts out.
People are often frightened of pursueing the career of becoming an artist because it doesn't have a steady payment.
If you do become an artist, what do you think is the best way to earn money steadily?
By creating that which is popular. That which is demanded by the public.
Artistic expression gets thrown out of the window.
There have been succesful non-mainstream artists, but they are so far and few between.
I guess this supports your point of capitalist societies producing more media, but it is -in my opinion- not art. It's a corporation. A bussiness model.
I find that capitalism is very anti-human.
We are not respecting each person's individual worth, we're judging their worth by the amount of money they have.
I can't live with that.

With Bieber my reasoning is the same as with religion: "It's not X I have a problem with, it's Xs fanclub I can't stand." I don't care much about his music as I personally think he is just another generic pop music singer... but what annoys me is not him or his music, it's the darn fans that seem to shriek just to destroy eardrums everytime he is mentioned.

Sure, that's where lots of money in the music industry comes from, but still, annoying as hell. But all the hate for Bieber is starting to get as annoying. I can't seem to watch a single music related vid on YouTube without Bieberbashing voted as the top comment or something like that.

OT: Nice spot, and well, way to make fun of yourself.
Agreed, its the same way I feel about Hitsugaya from Bleach (the second movie was AAAWWWFFFUUULLL and after the first was so good) and Twilight (its just Fan-service, poor fan-service that boarders on offensive but some people are into that I suppose).

Still not only is it the fans fault but the rights owners who get hyped on all the income and shuve it in peoples faces. I mean I know theres alot of us and its easier to group us together but Jesus did Shounen Jump actually WATCH the second film... sorry if your not an anime fan and you have no idea what im talking about, im just saying I agree.

I dunno why people hate his so much, they make fun of him for his stupid music....BUT, if you were offered millions upon millions to dance around like a fairy, wouldn't you?
For millions upon millions of dollars, I'd not only dance like a fairy, I'd dance like a fairy naked, with people throwing mousetraps at my nuts.

But OT, I personally just don't really CARE about Bieber, but anyone who's willing to make fun of themselves like that gets a gold star in my book.

Cheap shot I know, and he could be gay,
He does set off my gaydar like nobody else on Earth.

OT: I think it's good he's poking a bit of fun at himself. Better that than become an arrogant asshole who thinks everyone's just being horrible to you because they don't "get" what your doing.

While would this make me respect him. He didn't write this, nor was it even funny. He still represents everything that's wrong with today's music industry.

haha yea, I remmeber this commercial. I dont like Bieber's music, but I do respect him. He's doing what he likes to do best and he's famous for it. What man wouldnt be jealous of someone like that?

Cant say Ive ever started off hating someone and then had to admit they arent too bad. It's usually the other way around.
